Can Divo look after CD and you fly back? It'd probably be a similar cost, and wouldn't be so exhausting for you?
I'd suggest emailing Divo and pointing out the effect his actions have had on your long-standing plans. It can be easier to put it all in writing, especially if he doesn't want to look you in the eye (it does sound like he knows that this is a spanner in the works). Sometimes a strop is required! What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Hello Diary and Gentle Readers, :hello:
Thanks for popping in, Lucky, Missrlr and Satchmo, especially as you've all got so much going on in your own lives. :T
Black Dog dug a deep hole into which I tumbled.
Feel pathetic, limp, headachy and hopeless.
Achieved not a lot since posting last; having trouble staying upright for longer than about four hours at a stretch - so no, dare not set out to drive thousands of miles without help.
Looking at flying and renting a car*, but that's as far as it's got.
*UK car has been adopted by a family member - it hasn't got power steering, so am not minded to be awkward and demand it back.
CD would have to go to the dog-hotel. Can't leave her with Divo Three atm; he's playing the merry bachelor I]don't ask![/I so she'd cramp his style, be ignored and miserable. She'll be miserable at the dog-hotel anyway, but won't have the opportunity to vote with her feet.
Solicitor has communicated that there's an unexpected problem with the deeds of DH's cottages, which is going to be expensive to resolve.
No news from El Medico yet re blood results.
Hmm, bit of a non-post really. Sorry.0 -

Good morning World and Granny, :hello:
Thanks Granny; feel somewhat ashamed of yesterday's post now, but will leave it. <sigh>
Today the sun is shining, many small birds are scuttling around the garden (looking for early worms?).
CD wanted the door open at dawn, and is now watching a team of neighbours harvesting mangos.
Cheerful shouts echo across the valley; what a great opportunity for a healthy, useful family day out with everyone from Great-Granny to the smallest tots. They're having such fun as they work; their good mood is rather infectious.
Ought to get out there too; almond crop prices are very high this year which is a good reason for picking 'em up.
What puts me off, is that most of the ground the almonds fall onto at the Nest is very steep - a bit risky for someone with wobbly balance, working alone.0 -
Hi Robin
Good to see you looking a bit more upbeat today, I echo whoever suggested flying back to the UK rather than driving, obviously that would be enormously tiring for you and you do sound fatigued at the moment. Sounds like a lovely day where you are and I'm glad it's helping you feel better.
Having almonds in your garden sounds wonderful, it's a shame you can't get down there to retrieve them. If there was homemade marzipan involved I'd probably fly over to help. Goodness of my heart and all that.Barclaycard [STRIKE] £2770 [/STRIKE] now £2690.

Hi Robin, just catching up with you and sorry to hear your son has let you down. Show him you can do things without his help and fly back. Wait until he needs something from you then remind him. Sending you and CD bigs hugs:)I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Oh Robin what a kerfuffle. Yes I think dog hotel would be the only option for CD under the circumstances. If you are sure no Divo can assist?
And please take care of you, certainly not a good time to be considering almond harvesting!
Other than a friendly virtual hug not too sure what to offer. Hugs xxStart info Dec11

Don't be ashamed, we all have our days. I considered deleting my posts about mum but then everyone's responses would have looked daft. At the end of the day this is your diary, your thoughts and feelings and I find it helps to get it out.
I hope you've had a good weekend and that a solution to your driving problem arises. I know you don't want to leave CD so really feel for you
