  • Thanks Rainbow Bridge. Feeling much more positive today and things are finally looking up. Had a letter inviting me for another interview and my mum has paid for a proofreading course that I've wanted to do for ages so adding another 'string to my bow' as she put it. Now just need to get one of these jobs and I'll be a step closer to moving out and learning to drive! TTFN x

Well done you top 4 out of 60 is a fantastic situation to be in. You just have to sell yourself as well in person as you can on paper. Have faith in yourself, over this weekend, repeat the following as often as you can

I am fantastic and they are lucky to get me.

Picture yourself in the role and imagine what you will be doing in your first week, first month, first year. It will happen x

  • Thanks Granny :-) I've been shopping with mum today for new interview clothes and have booked a haircut on Monday so now just need to keep repeating your mantra. I feel much more positive that this time the job will be mine. I know I'm perfect for the job... I just have to prove to them I am! TTFN x

  • The interview clothes and haircut are a great investment x.

Granny's advice is excellent. A lot of your competitors will be starting to lose their confidence and it will show in their demeanour.

Your never give up, never give in attitude will help you stand out.

I am awesome and right for this job; I am awesome and right for this job; I am awesome and right for this job....

Ok...Bath had, clothes bought, clothes ironed, portfolio organised, school prospectus to read on bus printed, hair chopped, stickers found, puppet retrieved, bus time checked, lucky duck pocketed...Think I'm kind of ready for tomorrow, ready as I'll ever be anyway! Trying not to panic and stay calm by curling up with a DVD and hopefully I'll just nod off...unlikely though!! Fingers crossed I'll be celebrating at the pub quiz tomorrow, rather than drowning my sorrows!!

Thanks Granny :) I feel a bit sick this morning! I've got an hour until the bus and I don't know how crazy I might go in that hour! I slept surprisingly ok and had a text this morning to tell me to 'have fun :)' from a family friend. Not sure fun is the right word but nice sentiment from him to wake me up!!

Whoops I've been neglecting you again diary. Been an odd few days. On Tuesday my interview went ok I think. Oddly I actually enjoyed the day and it wasn't a completely terrifying experience as they usually feel to be! Still waiting to hear the outcome though as they're not interviewing the last person until today. Hopefully I'll hear either tonight or it'll be Monday...don't much like this waiting game!
Volunteering on Wednesday was ok...though somehow everyone knew and were all asking me how it had gone. Then my boyfriend came and took me out for tea which was lovely.
Yesterday I felt totally flat and couldn't motivate myself at all. Handbell practice was quite fun as I ended up playing extra bells. It was hard work but fun...never had to concentrate so much at a practice though..what a challenge! Managed to be quite MSE and should get through the weekend without spending hopefully. As I had to pay for the bus I stocked up for my training weekend...bought 4 pack of mars bars to avoid going to tuckshop and a bottle of lemonade to mix with some squash rather than buying beer to drink in the evenings.
I suppose while I'm waiting for my washing to dry my I should be tidying up so there's somewhere to put the ironing board! TTFN xx
