  • Been a busy week this week but a bit more MSE than last! I need to start looking at a new bank account so I can start saving for a holiday! We've decided to go to Italy in the summer and I'm a little excited even though we've not booked anything yet! I have to send off for a new passport as soon as I get paid so that is ready! We're going to decide this weekend exactly what we're doing, rather than try to discuss it over the fun! I know a holiday to Italy is not very MSE but it's cheaper than hiring a cottage in Cornwall or somewhere similar for a week!
I've spent the week baking buns to take to work to decorate for Children in Need. I've enjoyed it so think I'm going to ask Father Christmas if he'll bring me a nice apron and oven gloves as I managed to get flour everywhere and mum refuses to replace the slightly old oven gloves which are starting to let the heat through! I may have a break from making sponge cake though...150 buns worth is quite enough for now!
I'm going to a Christening tomorrow so might treat myself to something new to wear, and have to pop to Mama's and Papa's to get the present (I know what I want but didn't want to buy it earlier in case I found something different!) and I need to try and get a nice card kit. I should probably buy some rabbit food too as he's looking at me in anticipation everytime I move and I emptied the tin last night! Happy Saturday everyone!

  • Argh! Had the dreaded text message from the bank asking me to pay in sufficient funds by noon...looks like I'm totally skint until pay day! Fortunately I think I've spent all I need to until then and if not I'll have to use my emergency fiver. I would have more had I not been dragged to the walk-in centre yesterday (or had to pay for the work Christmas 'do). I say dragged as I'm not a big fan of doctors (not sure why but a bit of a phobia) and I've been insisting I'm fine for a couple of weeks now...despite really dry skin that I've never had a problem with before and madly itchy ears. So I eventually relented on the insistence that my boyfriend was with me every step of the way. Turns out it's a skin infection and after just 1 day of antibiotics they look and feel loads better so I'm glad I went. Didn't make me any more of a fan of doctors though!
It's taken nearly 2 hours to get home from work tonight (usually a 40minute journey on the bus) due to an accident so I'm shattered!! I think it might be time for a soak and a film (after making lunch and choosing a new book to put in my bag!) TTFN x

  • This month is going much better than last. I'm still loving my job, even though there's a bug going around and I keep having to clean up after sicky children. But it has meant very few children have been in on an afternoon. I've introduced loads of new ideas and I'm hoping that I might be able to apply for the teaching post that will come up when one of the teachers retires next year :)
I've nearly finished my Christmas shopping. Just 5 more things to buy, including secret Santa present for the head at school. I've done fairly well in finding bargains I think and so I've not spent as much as I thought I would. I do keep buying little things for myself though when I spot them!
We've discovered cheap cinema day at our local cinema which is great! Costs less than a new DVD for 2 of us and is nice to have a date night every so often. We've already been to see Skyfall (though my boyfriend was ill half way through it and we ended up at A&E later that night) and Twilight and on Tuesday we're going to see the Hobbit :)
He's bringing his mum over on Christmas Day to have dinner with my family. I'm a bit nervous but I know everything will be fine, it's just that my parents have never met a boyfriend's parents before!
5 more working days until the holidays and I'm rather looking forward to a few lie ins over the break! In case I don't make it back on in the next few busy days...Have a wonderful Christmas!! TTFN xx

  • Must finish Christmas shopping today! Not looking forward to tackling Leeds but there's a few things I need including new boots and leggings for Christmas day and 3presents. I had to exchange one last night after seeing a photo of my friend's baby wearing the outfit I bought for her. Then I've a lot of tidying up to do and parents to wrap before the big day! TTFN x

    :rotfl:

I would have given the baby the outfit as sometimes I used to buy 2 of the same outfit for my DC so that if they dirtied it during the day, I had a spare, especially if it was one I really liked. You may have bought a different sized one too. Anyway, I hope you last bit of shopping went well and you have managed to find enough paper to wrap your parents!

Do your parents really need wrapping up, I know you are a caring daughter but seriously

  • I meant to say presents to wrap. My tablet corrected my spelling earlier and I didn't notice oops! I don't think I'd have enough paper to wrap my parents haha!
Shopping in Leeds was much better than I'd expected it to be. Didn't get quite everything I wanted but it was things for me I couldn't find and the only shop we had to queue was one that is always busy so I was quite impressed. Just a little something extra to get for my mum on Monday now as she's only going to get a voucher on the big day itself.
I now have 10 cards to make tomorrow and my gift tags and I'll be all ready for Christmas woohoo! TTFN xx

  • I don't think I have the energy to do anything today after a night of crazy dreams. For some reason I spent the half the night arguing with my brother over the fact that I got home from friends' on Christmas eve and found him in the my bed rather than at his own house, or in our spare room. I had another odd dream in which I was constantly trying to escape from somewhere but I can't remember where so I woke up exhausted from running and arguing!
NSD today as I know I have to go shopping for my mum tomorrow which also means getting up early :( TTFN x
