Is it Friday yet!?
but he's booked us into the Grosvenor!! I'm sure I'm not posh enough to be allowed into a place like that!
Must sleep!! TTFN x
My sentiments exactly regarding the TGIF feeling.
Wow, that hotel is lovely, I stayed there courtesy of DD for my 40th and its one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. So pleased for you

I can't believe how posh it looks Granny! I've never stayed anywhere like that before and I'm very excited. We might be going to see Wicked while we're there and having a pre-theatre dinner at the Savoy! (It was meant to be a surprise but he showed me the website earlier in the week!) If we don't go to the theatre we may go to London Zoo, but we still need to sit down and decide exactly what we'd like to do so we have a plan before we get there!
I went to see Les Miserables last night with my mum as part of her Christmas present...what an amazing film! I cried buckets (quietly) and loved every minute of it. It was very (obviously) different to the stage musical but I think the story was easier to follow. There was even a bit of applause at the end of it! I can't wait for it to come out on DVD when I can sing along to it as well (I had to restrain myself during the final scene last night!)
Today has been interesting. I've been a bit wound up at work, and then tonight I couldn't concentrate at a rehearsal. I'm a bit worried about this weather to be honest. I like snow, it's very pretty, fun to build snowmen (which we did at school earlier in the week though his head has disappeared!) and there could be an unexpected day off (if the rush round of the new telephone tree thing is anything to go by they're expecting it to be bad!) BUT my OH will be snowed in and it's going to be impossible to get to see him, and it's going to be lethal once it's all trodden on! If school is open I don't think we'll get many children in, there was only half a class on Monday afternoon and the snow had stopped by then!
It's been a fairly spendy week as I've needed to grab a few essentials, and OH forgot his wallet on Monday so I had to pay for everything when we went to buy food. But on the plus side I have got a check from the tax man which I must remember to bank.
Just one more day until the weekend!

Sounds fun just in planning the break. I'd probably opt for the theatre in this weather rather than the zoo, although we did both for my 40th break. We stayed 2 nights.
Funnily enough it was during that break that I went to see Les Mis at the theatre. Not one I would have booked but I loved it. I'm looking forward to seeing the film but haven't got around to it yet. I love musicals for the sing along factor.
We also went up the london Eye when we went and visited Harrods and Hamleys as well. I was shattered by the time I got home but full of good memories and my DD was so pleased to have given me such a great break away. (she gave me vouchers for H & H, and I still have the coffee jar that I bought then).
Hope you are managing to stay warm and the snow hasn't caused you too many problems. I'm in work, (at home), one of the few in my office to be lucky, *un, enough to be able to do so.
Speak soon.

Sounds like a fabulous weekend you had Granny
I think Les Mis is probably my favourite musical. I nearly know the soundtrack backwards! And the film really is brilliant!
We've been keep a very close eye on the weather as we've been in school today but it didn't start until we were nearly finished for the day. Since I got home though it's covered the roads (which were clear at 4.30) it's not particularly heavy, just constant. Cubs was cancelled which was good, though I did have to stand outside the hut for 20minutes to make sure noone turned up (and had to help push one of the cars up the lane) I was out of the house for less than an hour but my footprints had all disappeared from the driveway :-/
My OH is snowed in (hoping to follow the snow plough out in the morning so he's not stuck until it disappears) and I'm at home now wishing I'd gone to his straight from work so we could at least be snowed in together!! May have to be an early night watching Big Bang Theory and Frozen Planet with a beer!
The snow is set to continue so I may go out for a walk and to take a photo or 2 tomorrow but don't think I'll be doing much (other than a bit of prep for work)
A little funny from today:
we were talking about the snow and one of the children heard us mention that it was very bad in Wales. It took a while (and a few pictured of the Welsh snow on the internet) for her to understand that Wales is a country and we weren't talking about 'the fish and the sharks with snow on' (she's only 4)

A better day than I'd anticipated today. I got up to go and make a cuppa only for the doorbell to ring as soon as I walked into the kitchen. There was my OH standing on the doorstep
I had no idea he was going to try and get out again today (after trying and sliding back down the hill into his parking spot yesterday evening) We went for a lovely walk and had fun throwing snowballs at each other and into the frozen dam. We also judged the snowmen we passed and watched kids sledging. He then joined my family for Sunday lunch for the first time :-) He went home pretty early so he could get home in daylight and it's now started snowing again. I've spent the evening at my brother's watching films and eating hot dogs and I'm all ready for school tomorrow with tidy clothes in my bag so I can travel in warm things!! It's supposed to snow heavily all night so the journey in the morning could be fun!! TTFN xx

Wow! What a fortnight! It started with a Snow Day as there were at least 6 inches of snow in our back garden. And a good 3-4 on the road when I got up. So school was closed! The day was filled with snowy walks, catching up on school work, opening a savings account and some lovely food with my brother and his girlfriend :-) Back to school the following day but not many children were in so it was pretty quiet. Then I think they had cabin fever for a week as we couldn't play outside.
On the Friday we had a load more snow which forced us to abandon the car at the top of OH's lane and walk down. It was a lovely snowy walk, though would have been better if my parent's hadn't got a bit stranded while they were out. When we got to the car the following morning (OH's not parents') the snow plough had dumped a load of snow in front of it so we had to dig our way out!
WE HAVE BOOKED OUR HOLIDAY! That's probably the most exciting news! We're all booked in to go to Italy in August. We're going a week later than planned as my OH happened to mention that he does photography for weddings and the travel agent is getting married just across the lake while we're there so he may have a job while we're out there.
This week hasn't been overly MSE but I've not really bought anything non-essential. I'm spending the weekend trying to get enough sleep to survive the next fortnight until half term. I really hope the children calm down a little or we'll all be burnt out by the holiday! TTFN x*2014 £365/365days - £52/£365* *20p Savers club #17 £12.00/£50*

Holiday sounds great, I love Italy.
Hope the weather has improved by you now, we've got strong storms tonight and more snow forecast, luckily I'm not going anywhere tomorrow but it's still pretty waring.

The weather did improve...it's getting bad again! I got caught in a hailstorm as soon as I left work today. Wouldn't have been so bad if the wind had been blowing behind me...but instead I got hail stones in my face. It's due to snow again tonight quite heavily but it's rained so much this afternoon I'm not holding out much hope of it settling. Maybe I'll have a pleasant surprise in the morning though!
I've been so tired today. I came home, cleaned the rabbit out and ate tea and I've been snoozing ever since. I hope it doesn't keep me from sleeping tonight as I'm currently wide awake! I'll just have to try catching up on some TV, that usually puts me right to sleep especially if it's something I want to watch! TTFN!*2014 £365/365days - £52/£365* *20p Savers club #17 £12.00/£50*

What a beautiful morning again! I haven't been out yet but the sun is shining brightly and there are just a few fluffy clouds in the sky. I'm going to walk from my OH's into town today which is about 4 miles to do a bit of shopping ready for our London trip and meet him for a trip to the cinema. Now that we've got a few free Tuesdays (cheap day with my super saver card) there's only 1 film out we want to see. When we've been busy there have been loads of things on! So tonight it's Wreck-it Ralph with a bottle of water instead of my usual C0ke as I've given up fizzy pop for lent which is already difficult!!
Not the most MSE day ahead but I've been quite good recently and only really bought essential things so today is my holiday treat and I do want something lovely to wear to go to the Savoy!
This morning I'm having a bit of a lazy morning (after an early stat yesterday) and a number of things to do tomorrow mean I'll probably get up with my OH at half 6. TTFN x*2014 £365/365days - £52/£365* *20p Savers club #17 £12.00/£50*
