Well the weekend cheeriness is definitely gone! (Would have made it 3 NSDs in a row had I not needed to buy rabbit food...which was cheaper than expected and will last longer being a bigger bag)
Was hoping I might have heard today about a job interview but there's been nothingShortlisting was today, and with interviews on Thursday I imagine they'd let people know today (though there wouldn't be a teaching task with it still being the holiday so maybe tomorrow morning could be soon enough!). I've been looking at other jobs to apply for half heartedly really so going to crack on with those and see what happens. And once the schools go back I'm going to enquire about volunteering in their Nursery/Reception classes to get more experience. I've been looking into proofreading to up my income and if I can pull the money together a course I've been looking it is less than half price until the end of September.
In theory I'm currently making a poster and tickets to advertise a concert I'm helping to host but I can't concentrate on it. Doesn't help that over the wall someone is absolutely screaming at a child who sounds quite clearly heartbroken. I'm sure whatever they've done there's no need for yelling and swearing at them so the whole neighbourhood can hear. I think it may have to be a busy evening as I'm going to my gran's for tea in a bit. Time to stop procrastinating and do something useful! Hello diary! It's rather late but I'm still wide awake and can't switch off tonight!! Been getting stressed again today (but refrained from spending any money even though I wouldn't have objected to chocolate and lemonade!) Heard nothing from the job application so looks like I'm still on the hunt for an interview even!
I started today fairly positively...photocopying posters and tickets I made for the day centre concert, then spent the day being praised constantly for how wonderful they were!! I know the people they were for are very unfamiliar with computers but it was quite amusing seeing their surprise when they realised I could make these things in half an hour with free software!! And I was told off for trying to refuse the money they gave me to do it (I know they're grateful but I wasn't expecting anything for it so I'm £20 better off today!)
Managed to fill in an application form and draft a letter to send to schools about volunteering while I was at day centre as well which was quite productive!
Shame my positivity didn't continue when I got home. Not sure why but I felt completely fed up and struggled to focus. I did manage to do a couple of job searches online and my BF said he would ask about temp work where he works (polar opposite to my dream job but it would be money coming in!)
Signing on tomorrow which will take an hour with the walk there and back, and as it's unlikely for me to find a teaching/TA post before November now (or January in a lot of cases) I'm going to pop into the charity shops in town on my way home and ask about volunteering. If nothing else it's something to put on my cv, and I'm sure I'd enjoy it more than constant application forms at home on my own all day! Long to do list for tomorrow so must try to switch off (mentally and computerly!)

Hello honey, sorry to hear about the job and not surprised you feel down in the dumps. It is so hard when you desperately want to work but nothing seems to come your way. You will get there in the end and when you do you will be kicking yourself if you don't spend at least a little of this time enjoying not being tied down by work. I know its hard without money but please do try to see some positive in it. I hope you have a good day today

Morning Granny. Thank you for your lovely words of encouragement
I'm feeling a little more positive this morning.
I think last night was just the dread of the job centre this morning. I positively hate going and I know there's only so long I'm going to be able to keep going with the teaching dream...eventually I'll be applying for anything and everything which will be gutting after 4 years at uni. I'm hoping the extra experience volunteering in local schools will give me will help me to secure something.
Must crack on with the to do list (it's nearly a page long!!). Want to get at least 3 things done before I go sign on! TTFN x*2014 £365/365days - £52/£365* *20p Savers club #17 £12.00/£50*

Brilliant start so far
I've completed one job application (to post on route to job centre...wanted a NSD but need large letter stamps!) and I've called the job centre about not having received a payment. This is a pretty huge thing for me as making such phone calls terrify me (don't know why!) so to have done it and not panicked/stressed too much is quite a surprise! The guy I spoke to was very nice and pretty much guessed why I was calling and hopefully sorted my problem...so I SHOULD receive some money soon! So 2 cups of tea later and I'm ready and raring to go! Just hope it won't be a cup of tea per task I complete!!

Evening diary! It's been a lovely couple of days and I now have the red nose and tshirt line to prove the sun has shone today! Not quite managed NSDs as yesterday I had to buy stamps for job applications (which were 5p cheaper each than I thought they were
) and some soya milk and today I've been out with friends to celebrate one of their birthdays. We've had a lovely walk around the walls of York (and the shops!) and I only spent on my lunch which was a very tasty & healthy butty so I've done pretty well. I did try on some really comfy trainers in TK Maxx but decided against buying them until I have a bit more money.
I was in the house for about 5 minutes to get changed for Cubs as the traffic coming home was dreadful! The Cubs had a fantastic time and I think they might be talking about tonight for good few weeks after a visit from some local policemen
It won't be a NSD tomorrow as I need to pay bus fare to my BFs but that should be my only spend as we're going out to take some photos up a hill (and that's the most I know!) and if the weather's good we'll be getting some sunset shotsI'm a little worried as I'm borrowing a 'posh' camera for the day! I'm only just learning how to use the superzoom I've got so hope I don't break it!
Watching Disney DVDs late on an evening isn't a good idea! I'm sure eventually someone will complain at my singing loudly at this time!

Good luck with the job applications and have a fantastic day tomorrow taking "photos up a hill" x
Look forward to seeing how you get on with the NSD challenge you set yourself, have you decided on an amount or is it just see how many you can do in a month?
Disney singing just makes you feel great doesn't it x

Disney singing is fantastic
I really should get hold of the karaoke game for the Wii that has all the classic disney songs! They should bring out one of West End musical hits as well...I'd love that!
I think I'm going to just aim for 10 NSD in September as there's a few birthdays, my friend's baby is due next Friday (and I know I'm going to end up spoiling her a bit as she's the nearest to a niece I'm going to have for a few years!) and I'm hopefully going to have to get buses to a job interview or 2 as well as my usual bus trips...at least when I get a job I'll be able to get a monthly bus pass and not worry about it after that...but it's not worth it at the moment!
Have a great weekend

I was sure I'd posted earlier on here...silly tablet! Very exciting day today as my oldest friend has given birth
And it's her wedding anniversary! So I'm not having a very MSE September so far as I've been buying little bits for a gift bag for her. However now baby has arrived and is looking beautiful and healthy I can be broody without spending lots of money on new baby gifts!
Been to the job centre today to meet with an adviser and it was really productive. As always I was dreading it but I think I got quite a lot out of it, and the lady I spoke to said she hopes she doesn't see me again. She was very nice and helpful, but I hope I don't have to see her again too as that would mean I had a job!
Tonight I'm exhausted and volunteering again tomorrow, but it's been a very productive day so I'm giving myself the evening off. Might pop down to view my brother's garden when he's back from the shop! I might even volunteer to turn some soil...though it did look like hard work while we were watching him do it yesterday!
Just thought...I have some job adverts to look at that I got alerts through for as I got to the job centre earlier...will do that quickly then give up!

Yippee!! I have a job interview on Tuesday! It's not for my dream job, but it's in a school and gaining more experience (if I get it!)
I went to visit a school this morning about a different job, which was a lovely school and all the nursery children were talking to me as I looked at their classroomIt did make me really miss working in an Early Years setting but we'll see what happens on Tuesday. I've just got to finish my application off for that, not stopping on the pile I've got to do in case nothing comes of the interview!
I met my friends' adorable baby last night and had the longest cuddle. I should get more tomorrow too if she comes to our Cub meeting! She's definitely going to be a daddy's girl (she'll have no choice!) but both mummy and daddy are settling in to parenthood happily.
Although I've not acheived a huge amount today I'm going to have an early night I think and watch a film so I can plough on with my to do list feeling refreshed in the morning!
