gently - take the food with just the front teeth
enough - stop what you're doing and calm down
go on then - start eating. She recently had to have a minor op, and when she came around from the anaesthetic they put half a tin of dog meat in front of her. She watched it for 30 mins without touching it because they hadn't told her she could start!
Edit: forgot a few!
Excuse me (dog will move out of the way, even if shes lying down)
we also have hand signals for the core commands - sit, down, come etc
see them off (birds in garden)
on guard (but she tends to be pretty on guard most of the time)
quiet (stop barking)0 -
Ours has mastered quite a few
Right
Left
Straight on
Daddy
Where is he (anyone)
Bone
Ball
Sit etc
The only one she hasn't mastered is " come " In fact sometimes I think she's never heard it before.0 -
marlot-we used to have a command for eating food too when very young but we let it go after reading something(can't remember if magazine or newspaper) about a dog going into kennels and not eating a thing because the 'right' command hadn't been given. However, with our food/dropped food etc, the dog will not touch it until told it is ok to do so, seriously we could leave our dinner on a plate on the floor and it wouldn't be touched0

Our Yorkie does the usual
sit
stay
lie down
wait (crossing roads)
cross
fetch
bed
wee
walkies
bathtime
etc. etc
The strangest one is when you ask him where our oldest son is he grabs a toy and runs to find him. I think our son has been training him in secret, we certainly haven't taught him that his name means playtime.
My aunts Yorkie does the cutest thing, he knows all his individual toys, which she hides over the house then asks him to fetch, he gets the right one every time.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

My dog is a pain in the bum, he knows plenty but rarely does as he's told!!
He knows,
sit
down
paw
spin
high 5
play dead
close the door
He also knows "in or out" which means "are you going in the garden or back in the house". He'll even stand there for a couple of seconds to think about it properly before he decides
His worst habit is understanding words and even sentences :rotfl: We've invented a million different ways to say we are going to the shop so he doesn't know what we're talking about... until he gets on to it!!
We were talking about the Bahamas the other day and he heard banana's which kicked him off in thinking we were going to give him a banana!! Sometimes when were talking his head tilts and we have to go back through the convo to try and work out what he heard.
Like I said he's a pain in the bum... anyone want him?Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.0 -
My Neo Mastiff doesn't know that many as he's not really a breed for obedience training. His commands are:
Sit - I rarely do this now as he has hip dysplasia
Lie down
Stop - If he's off lead and I want to get him to stop so I can pop his lead on
No! - To get him to stop whatever bad behaviour he's engaging in
Cross - To cross roads
Quick, Quick - To speed up if he's ambling
Wee Wee - To pee on command (only used last thing at night)
Shake - To lift a paw
Drink - To come and have water out on a walk
Treat - To let him know a treat is coming and to sit and wait for it
Dinner - To get off his bed and come and get dinner
In the car - To run up his ramp and into the car
Wait - To sit in the car until I set his ramp up to get out or to wait before crossing a road
A whistle - To recall
This way (plus hand gesture) - To indicate which way we're walking when he's off lead
Who's that? (plus hand gesture) - To indicate someone he knows and what direction they're in
Get it! - To chase off wood pigeons from the garden
Sleepy time - To get on his bed after his night-time wee“Don't do it! Stay away from your potential. You'll mess it up, it's potential, leave it. Anyway, it's like your bank balance - you always have a lot less than you think.”

These are most of the words and phrases that our 10YO Jack Russell responds to
Sit
Down
Stay
Wait
Go Get It
See It Off
In y' Bed
In the Car
Walk (Time for, favourite!)
Trot
Din-Dinns (Time for!)
Chew? (Do you want)
Won't be long (A phrase we use to suppress false hopes such as the "w" word heard in error)
Going to Nana's (Telling her we are going)
Grandad's (Telling her we are going)
Where's y' ball
Where's Mummy?
Where's Daddy?
Wee Wee
Drop It
Leave it
No!
The last three don't always work.
She also has an uncanny knack of becoming very excited just before we arrive at a destination in the car, usually shortly before we slow for the final turning and even if she's never been there before.0 -
"Din dins!"
"Bikkies!"
He may know others but those are the only ones he takes any notice of!0
