What commands does your dog know?

Zara suffers from selective defness and alzhaimers....
But she will find any cat I ask her to find "Find George" etc when the furies refuse to come back home from the garden.. she thinks itr is a game LOL0 -
Mine know loads of words, I talk to them far too much!
The usual stuff like sit, stay, no, leave it, spit it out (!!) bad dog, good boy/girl, lie down, roll over, don't you dare, give paw, etc.
Also Jack will "get the shoes" before a walk, knowing who's taking him out and bringing the relevant shoes, "get your lead", knows all the family names, brings his bowl for his dinner.
Lucy's MUCH thicker though, you'd be all day waiting for her to understand the simplest thing. She does that cute head on one side thing as if to say What ARE you on about - unless food's involved, then she's right there salivating all over me at the merest hint of grub!
This made me laugh, my springer knows that one very well too!Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0 -
I think the question for my beagle needs to be what commands does he know but chooses to ignore.
The answer to this would be all of the usual.2014 Target;

Skip knows "ON YOUR BED" if you shout it 5 times.
Get Off - if you shout it 5 times.
Stop chewing your leg - but has to be accompanied by a poke.
Wheres your lead - she has no idea where it is but does go and be manic at the door!
Patterdales - who'd have them?With Sparkles! :happylove And Shiny Things!0 -
Hmmm.... I have a very lazy obstinate dog by comparison to most of you.
He knows Dinner, Walkies, Chewy, Bed, Parky and Where's Nana (gets him running to the door). Oh, and "windowcleaner/postman" - when he attempts to kill the window cleaner through the glass or rip off the postman's hand through the letterbox! Its funny because as soon as they're at the door or in the house he just wants to lick them to death!0 -
We don't have a dog any more, but one of the cats has been cynically exploited by the kids. He now knows sit, stay, fetch, leave it, down (gets him off the table), stop eating that plant, claws (away), tidy your toys, roly poly (does a somersault), speak, beg, and get away from my dinner you sod (that ones me though!). His sister sits and glares at him - she's a proper cat, whereas I'm sure he's part dog!0

We have a cat that does "paw" and "safe dude" (he butts your fist with his head). The latter was just exploiting his natural behaviour, but it looks good

Dog will...well.... "can" sit, paw, down, up, off and, occasionally, "walk" (walk on two legs while in the up position. All must be accompanied by a treat except "off" which is usually accompanied by a shove if not executed quickly.
She responds to "who's there?" and runs down our front steps to greet whoever it may be....the command means, I think, "the next person you see is a friend even if you don't know them".
"Rabbits, Boo, rabbits!!!" means "bound up the garden and chase off any cats in the garden". I know, it's weird, but it evolved, and it works!
"Get 'em Boo!!" means howl/roo in an amusing manner until we work you into fever pitch and let you up the garden where you can have a little bark before coming back and feeling chuffed with yourself"
And "No" which seems to mean "carry on stealing what you were trying to steal, but chew faster before Mum gets to you" *sigh*0 -
My 5year old Lhasa know sit, lie down, paw, other paw, up (sits up on her back legs), right up (stands up on back legs) and up and round (goes from sitting up on her back legs to standing on them and jumping round in a circle).
She also knows Whos that? Which involves lots of barking while looking at the living rooms doors.
Who done that?? She lowes her hear and gently wags her tail cos she knows it was bloody her!
Wheres that waggy tail? Just lots of tail wagging
She knows lots of food words, cheese, bacon, sausages, treat, dinner. Any of those will have her barking and running to the kitchen.
And Tell your daddy... When she wants out and it's not my turn to take her :rotfl:Can't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
Our dog is 2 and he's been quite easy to train with both voice and sign commands.
Voice wise, he knows sit, lay, over, bed, leave it, walk, out, bed and biscuit (night), stand, paw, both paws, other paw, food, up, chicken, lead, collar, who's that, daddy's back, DD's back, TV etc.
Sign commands with hand/s he knows: stay, sit, lay, over, out, leave it, cuddle, paw.
If I say "Whats this, or is this you?", his ears will go down and flops over onto his back.To repeat what others have said, requires education, to challenge it,requires brains!FEB GC/DIESEL £200/4 WEEKS0 -
