What commands does your dog know?

Well my two are still not picking up the 'lie down' and 'roll over' commands, they just sit and give both paws then walk off. I think they get bored and/or they don't like rolling over. It's not as easy training two though.
When I started this thread, I was wondering what you all have trained your dog/s to do as I have only taught them sit, give paw & other one.
Mine do know a lot of other commands which they have picked up through talking to them such as; who's this, who's done that, are you going out for a wee, leader, do you want a walk, should we go out, do you want to go in car, kiss, fetch, down, come here, bath, do you want a biscuit, do you want your dinner, do you want your hair brushed, bed and most importantly they know the meaning of the word 'no'
It is amazing how quick they pick it up. My last two dogs (yorkie and king charles) were like humans, they seemed to understand everything I said. I only trained them to sit and give both paws too so would like to train my two yorkies more tricks, if I can

I'm afraid my dog has me trained better than I have him trained!
I got him when he was 5 and he knew absolutely nothing. Even with the help of a trainer, it took about three of training five times a day every single day for him to learn "Sit". Another two weeks for "paw". "Flat" (lie down) has NEVER caught on with him but I have my suspicions that he is just stubborn and doesn't want to learn that one.
He also knows no, come (when he fancies it...) wait, its your daddy, where's ebby?(mums dog), go on then, up you come, get down, wanna go for a walk?, breakfast, sweeties, "get away from that window!" and his name.
He is not as stupid as he acts, because he also knows "Hello" as a word that means I am addressing someone else that isn't him. Therefore if I pick up the phone and say hello he thinks someone is in the house so starts barking
Then again, if I look directly at him and say hello in the tone of voice I use for him he still runs of looking for the intruder, so not that smart!
I would love to teach him "Speak" so that I can also teach him "Quiet" because he knows what I mean when I say "be quiet!" but sees no reason to obey it most of the time.
It would be great to take him to classes in my new area, I found a local provider but they won't return my calls to book him on which is quite frustrating.GC2012: Nov £130.52/£125

Tyson knows...
Sit
Stay (and 'OK' when he is allowed to move from his stay otherwise the poor love would stay there all day, as to my shame I realised when I went up for a bath one day and he was still sat looking at his food bowl when I came back down!)
Stop scratching
Put that back
Sod off (translates to 'go to your bed')
Shut your beak (stop barking)
You little swine (run off at high speed with whatever it is he shouldn't have)
Down
Heel (pull as hard as you can on the lead when anyone is looking, so it looks like Mum has not control whatsoever, and then go back to walking nicely when we are alone)
Cheese (sit and stare at the fridge)
Fetch (insert name of toy)
Itchy bits (roll on your back with your legs spread so that Mum can put cream on itchy bits or the vet can have a look)
Come (look at Mum blankly and then keep running)
Puppy look (sit looking all cute and gorgeous. Useful for getting free out of date meat and cheese from the deli!)
I know...
High pitched bark (play with me now or I will annoy the hell out of you)
Deep bark (there is a dog walking past the window)
Headbutt (fuss me now or I will annoy the hell out of you)
Whining (I want something, but I haven't decided what I want yet)
Fart ( I have eaten fox/cat poo and you are now going to be up all night letting me out to the toilet)
Howl (There is a David Guetta song on the radio, or your phone is ringing)
Puppy eyes (I'm hungry)0 -

Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!0 -
I haven't seen anyone else mention this one, but my dog also knows "Gently" which means take whatever it is I'm offering without ripping my hand off in the process.
Very useful for when small children are trying to give him a treat, but don't know to really open their hand properly. He sits there licking the treat till he finally gets it out between their fingers, then gently closes his teeth on it to pull it away.
He's usually good taking things anyway, but with gently he knows he has to be as soft as possible.0 -
The most important command for our dogs, on a working yard with jorses and other livestock is 'gate' to stand away from an open gate. I do not want them to run into a road, a field of young animals and often want them to stand aside while i move things or livestock through gates without their input.
Leave is also important for us.
Sit, stay, heel, come and 'concentrate' a command to secure their attention.
Their favourite is 'car', they love car rides more than walks.0 -
Our mad lurcher understands:
Sit
Stay
Leave (sheep/rabbits etc)
Pee pee
Poo poo
High five
Speak
Roll over
Heel
Drop (for his ball)
And my personal favourite of "Find Mummy" which my OH uses to get me out of bed/wake me up :eek:0 -
Our Staffie is about 8 or 9, not exactly sure as we got her 5 years ago from the local rescue centre. She knows
Sit
Stay
Wait
Go on then (after waiting)
Lie down
Roll over (which is funny when she's excited as she just dips her shoulder onto the floor and goes round in circles)
Paw and other paw (for putting her harness on)
Wee wee
Bed
Treat (runs to fridge and sits looking at the top)
Gently (so she won't snatch)
I realised the other day that she runs to me as soon as I brush my hair as it's the last thing I do before taking her out.
If anyone puts their coat or shoes on she gets excited but if we say "no" she understands that she isn't invited and lies down looking sorry for herself.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -

.
Yes that is a useful one to have . Although in our house it generally means you just lose your fingers instead of the whole arm.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

oh yes, my husband says...'go and cuddle mummy' ( which is crazy, i don't think any of the animals think of me a mummy and we do not have kids but,.....) at which point 40 k of dog launches itself at my bed or the sofa or whatever.
We use gently too.0
