I don't know
I 'm saying what is expected by the vast majority
The vast majority of people are, sadly, idiots who don't read or think, and just latch onto poorly researched headlines in the Sun or Daily Mail.
It's entirely possible that Tesco would have an agreement with Vax whereby you return the faulty goods to them and they send them to Vax with a copy of your receipt and Vax honour it.
They may not, in which case, Vax will check their system and see you didn't register your goods, and will refuse to progress. If you feel Tesco should have provided you with a warranty, that would be between you and Tesco. Vax expect registration of goods, and if you don't register and Tesco don't offer an alternative warranty arrangement then tough titty.
It is also likely to be marketing spam, but that's how they recoup repair costs, I guess.0 -

I simply don't understand the OP's attitude. Either they want the extra protection afforded by the warranty, which may make things easier in the 6 to 12 month period if a fault develops, or they don't? If they do then it is in addition to rights under the SoGA and hence the manufacturer can dictate the terms and conditions - in the case of VAX the item must be registered within 28 days.
The real mystery is the OP's reason for being stubborn? Reasons seem to include not wanting the hassle of filing in a card but they seem happy to go to any lengths to argue on the phone, & not wanting to receive marketing but there is an opt-out on the online form anyway
(perhaps the OP has found out about the secret EU 2 year warranty directive....)0 -
I filled mine in over web, thought nothing of it. What i noticed though on the box was, if any problems with machine do not bring back to shop but contact Vax. No, i would be going back to the shop. Have seen this on other items as well.
What's this about? Do they want us to phone these 0845 type numbers to make more money from us?0 -
So much rubbish spoken here with all this talk of SOGA is just not necessary, your receipt is all that's needed when you buy goods from a company like Tesco.
There's no way they will behave any differently after 6 months they offer a years guarantee on all purchases like this.
People on here go consumer law mad sometimes.
Fill the card in if you want to, I certainly wouldn't bother. The only time I bother with those things is if they give a free extended guarantee.0 -

Different shops have different agreements with Vax (and other companies). Some may, as far as warranty is concerned, simply direct you to vax. Others may have a collection agreement with vax. As vas is not omnipotent and will not print special documents for each retailer, the most sensible course of action is to simply say to contact them.0
