Maybe not, but VAX would be within their rights to refuse to help if it is.

Then the only people that can help you is VAX customer services.

Woolies, Adams, Habitat jump immediately to mind from the gaps on my local high street - the point was to show that being a multiple is no guarantee in itself.

OP, you ask for proof that VAX won't show the love if you don't register the guarantee - impossible to prove a negative, and frankly between you and them to argue out if you have a 10 month old dead vacuum cleaner and for some reason Tesco are not forthcoming. The only proof one way or another will be on a case by case basis - they might look at it, see it needs a whole new flux capacitor and not choose to honour the guuarantee as it wasn't pre-registered. Or maybe they will, but you would not know until it was too late, and that's the point!

If it reassures you, I do complete the registration cards for some items I buy (eg laptop, camera) and am not flooded with spam from the companies involved. I like to have the peace of mind that they offer additional support beyond the legal minimum in return for 2 mins, and after box-ticking not had a spam problem (and I would know, they each get their own special email address so I can track spammers back)

For every guarantee card (in ink or online) I've received several communications for each item from Domestic n General Insurance trying to push extended warranties.

    That's why I am suspicious.

I guess if you don't answer many of the profile questions that can reduce spam.

It does get confusing as retailers and manufacturers can bounce you between each other when a problem occurs!

"Dolce Gusto" did replace a faulty leaking water chamber instead of sending me back to the retailer.

"Tetra" sent me a new Aquarium Heater when I contacted them rather than directing me back to the shop.

"George Foreman" told me to go back to the retailer.

I think VAX will hope that you don't fill in this card and also don't have to claim or try to claim anything. They can probably live without cantankerous people such as you have demonstrated yourself to be in the last 48 posts so don't register, don't ring them on their 0844 number and everyone will be happy except perhaps you.
