good luck for the festivities everyone, enjoy & have fun, back on the 5:2 in 10 days or so (i think i'll be looking forward to a day of not eating by then!

I'm fasting today, and bloomin' heck do I need it!
I fasted on Monday and feel like I've done nothing but eat and drink for the last 3 days - I'll be glad to get a break from food :rotfl:Do you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?

Exactly the same here - fasted Monday, and again today, after 3 days over-indulgence.
Someone told me the average person consumes 27 mince pies over the festive season - don't know where he got that from, but it's a staggering amount!0 -
I'm fasting today too. I fasted Christmas eve, ate 'normally' Christmas day, but not excessively. Yesterday I ate normally again. Had smoked salmon and scrambled egg for breakfast, skipped lunch. Had a cuppa and mince pie in the afternoon and then a couple of lamb chops and some broccoli for supper.
so today I am fasting and having nothing until this evening. Not sure what to have yet, but it will be well under 500 cals.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
I am not fasting again until after New Year, by which time I will have put on all of what has taken me a year to lose, but never mind:(
Why is it that weight goes on much faster than it comes off? So unfair:(Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
So does this work? I used to just calorie count and do the 16/8 sometimes 14/10 fast. Put a stone on since but thats mainly water weight and have been hearing alot about this diet.0

In my experience, yes.
Not so much for me personally, because I haven't been doing it religiously, but have still lost 1 stone. (Getting back with it seriously in the new year
)
But in relation to my wife it is a definite YES, she has lost 7 stone since April and has taken up jogging, starting with the C 25K and now jogging 6 times a week up to 10k+ a time and misses it when she doesn't get chance (she even did a 5k Christmas morning  whilst waiting for our guests for the day to arrive).
Some people don't get on with it, some do. But it is worth trying as it costs you nothing, you might even save money due to buying less food

So if I understand it right, I eat normally 5 days of the week and consume just 500-600 calories the remaining two? or do I eat at maintenance for the 5 days?0

Yes, eat normally, but obviously don't go mad and totally pig out
.
This last year we have had more meals out and takeaways than ever, but you do find after a while that your eating habits change, your body re-educates itself and you don't want to eat as much as you used to.0 -
I tried this diet early this year but being veggie, I found it incredibly hard to eat a lot of egg etc for protein.
I might give it another but do it by being more conscious of what I eat over the 5 days. On another thread, I mentioned I might try giving up bread and dairy and see how the weight goes. So, a few things to consider for me.0
