Nice dicussion going on here. I have tried 5:2 last couple of months ago. It looked like atfirst didnt work for me but later i realised that its me who iwas the problem. I lost a stone with slimmimg world then got bored then started 5:2 and was cheating. Now put it all back.dont know where to start anymore. But looking at this thread thinking giving it a a go again . So i am starting 5:2 from tomorrow again. Need some motivation . I am 36 year old male weighed 85 kg height 5 ft 6 inch. Want to be 70 kg .

Take it a day at a time. Find what is easiest for you on fast days. Sometimes it is easier not to eat anything at all then have a normal meal in the evening. Other people like three small meals over the day. All you have to remember is to not put anything in your mouth unless it is within your 600 calories. Just get through the day. Go to bed early if you have to. The day after tomorrow you can eat normally.

Having said that, is the weekend the best time to fast for you? Sometimes it is more difficult at the weekend with more tempting food on offer.

Anyway, if you want motivation, have you seen the Michael Mosley programme. It used to be on You Tube but I'm not sure if it is on there anymore.

I find the weekends easier to fast as I can keep busy all day and forget about food. I fast at work too but it is often harder when a) I get bored and b) other people are eating in front of me c) someone brings cakes in.
Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j

As i said i was doing 5:2 couple of months before and was doing two working days and was alright when at work. Good thing is i dont fancy cake or chocolet or stuff like that usualy people bring at work . But when i came home ate lot of curry and rice . Bythe way rice is my main enemy as i eat hell a lot of it everyday.

Someone mentioned cauliflower rice earlier, I haven't tried it yet but it looks lovely and might work as a low-calorie substitue for you :).

Yay, glad it's not just me :j

I was sorting out my spare wardrobe the other day and had loads of stuff in there I couldn't previously face parting with. Just for fun I tried some bits on and yeeehar, it fits again!
Haha, I was doing this yesterday. And it turns out that I don't need to replace my entire wardrobe because a) I've got some old stuff that didn't fit and b) I've been given some of my sister's old clothes after she lost weight. She's MUCH smaller than me and even being able to wear her "fat" clothes is a huge change :D

Made a version of this for tonight and 5 other fast days, without the coconut milk, so a lot less kcal but may try it with the coconut milk next time.
Will be having it with couscous and maybe add some pollock :)

Today is a fast day for me and I'm much more organised. I made a veggie soup which has come in at a mere 119 calories, fruit and egg on toast later.

I wore a dress yesterday that I didn't fit into 3 months ago. It was baggier on me than when I first got it!

Fasting today as well. Made lentil soup with 6 vegies. Will have it with cup of rice. Will have pc of small chicken without gravy or skin . Normal days i will have 2 bowl of rice with it. Hopefully will come under 600 cal as didnt have anything whole day other than green tea and lemon water. Was starving a while ago. Eat at 9 and got bed at 10 . Then feast tomorrow :D.lol .. Joke......
  • Fast day for me too.

I had WW soup for lunch, lentil and carrot, just 87cals! :D. Celery for snack. Dinner was bubble and squeak made from leftover potatoes, carrots, cabbage and an onion, with a fried egg on side and some HP sauce. Yum!! Jelly for desert.

Once again found it really easy to do, especially as I was so busy in work today, the day flew by!
