After a holiday (with one fast day) and eating semi sensibly the rest o the time I am back on the plan starting Wednesday.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    I'm fasting today :).

I'm also starti g the day feeling really well (increasingly unusual for me sadly). The fast days are always my best days health wise. I think my poor old body just struggles digesting now, so the day off lets it concentrate its resources elsewhere. Or that's how it feels anyway.

Oops upset someone on fb, as her OH had lost 6lb in 4 days on the clean 9 detox.
Looks like a 9 day semi fast but you also pay £120 for some aloe Vera products.
Following horizon 5-2 started 28/01/13 target where I am now ish :)
Maintaining now as DW doesn't want my legs to get any skinnier :D
    Total Loss=41.6lb

From what I gather of detoxes, if he's lucky that's 1lb of fat and 5lbs of water.

I'm down another lb. Haven't been fasting as such; last tuesday and wednesday I couldn't really keep liquids down, haven't been able to eat much at any one time since so fasting would be a bit odd. Think it may have taken a couple more pounds off when my body stops holding onto all the liquid that it can!

Doctor says it could be a couple of weeks before my symptoms fully go so unsure when I'll be able to resume. Possibly this sunday, or the next week, may be longer.

Fasting today. Have shirasu noodles, cabbage and a salmon steak to play with when I get home - possibly a miso soup for tea tonight.

  • 1 out of 2 fast days done this week.

Only second week in the game. My stomach is finding it easy, however, my head suffers! By the end of a working day I have such a bad headache and tiredness. Usually goes away when I have a cup of black coffee when I get home! Anyone else suffer with this? Any remedies?

Headache could indicate dehydration - you get liquids from your food remember, so are you compensating with an extra glass of water or 2?

If so the next likely cause is blood sugars. You should get a checkup if you haven't recently to make sure you're not diabetic or having pre-diabetes symptoms, just to be safe. But you should probably consider having your meals differently divided to stabilise blood sugar. Something with protein as a breakfast should be somewhat filling and help keep them steady all day.

That, or you usually have caffeine and aren't, in which case it could simply be your body having a sulk at the lack of it.
  • Thanks littlerat. All viable reasons for the headache.

Today was a fast day and didn't suffer- perhaps I drank more today but will certainly make sure I am topping up with fluids. I do usually have 1/2 cups of coffee/tea per day so maybe withdrawal!

Or it might just be working in education!
