My wife weighs herself every day and records it on her phone using something called Libra (free) which displays the trend in the form of a graph complete with peaks and troughs. Some days she seems to have put on a pound, sometimes more, but the next day she will have lost two. Most of the variation seems to be caused by water, or the lack of it, and not fat.0 -

A couple of times on my journey I put on a pound, had a couple of stay the sames as well. Even though I had put on weight or stayed the same my size went down (apart from my arms and legs which have stayed the same but got harder). your weight can fluctuate by over a pound if you are dehydrated, if you have had a bit more salt that you are used to, dozens of reasons, don't let it bring you down.The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Thanks guys, I know it's just fluctuations, but it's disheartening that after 2 weeks I'm back to my start weight. But then, I also know where I'm going wrong, so I need to tackle my eating on non fast days and stick to a calorie plan then too.
Sensible eating day today, and I think will fast again tomorrow and Thursday.0 -

I do a loose calorie plan on non fast days with aproximate targets for protien, carbs, fat and fibre. But if I miss or go over by a wee bit I don't get bothered by it.The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

I ended up doing an extra fast day last week. I made the courgette "pasta" and will definitely do this again.
Today and probably Thursday are my fast days this week. I found a vegetarian foodie blog which had some great ideas and so today I had a carrot, leek & mustard seed soup from it.0 -
Hi all. Well I have just come back from holiday where I took advantage of the all inclusive menu!! However, after putting on 2lbs, took it straight back off after 2 days fast last week. So that was good. I think though, I have reached my target weight. I say target weight, but I didn't have a weight in mind, just to loose a stone and that is what I have done. I am quite happy where I am so now I may try one day fasting and see what that does.

hope those with colds, aches & pains are bearing up.
I did my weekly weight & measure yesterday morning and was a bit surprised not to have lost anything.
Although I can usually 'feel' if I have lost a bit, I did think that 3 days of fasting might have had some effect ...
I concluded that I was probably going over the magic 500 figure by quite a lot more than I thought, so I gave myself a pep talk and decided to go for the absolute lowest calorie amount I can bear, but just do 2 x fast days and see if that makes any difference this week.
Today I've had 3 x coffees with sweetener
1 x tea with sweetener
1 x chicken noodle cup soup
1 x small apple
1 x moroccan spice cup soup
3 x cream cracker with a scraping of spread
By my calculations that comes to 463 calories.
Strange, but today is the first day I've not felt either tired or hungry !SAVER0 -
Today is a fast day.
Didn't start too well with a very bad nights sleep!! But I have avoided eating or murderous tendancies so far :rotfl:.
Have homemade carrot and corriander soup (67 cals) for lunch, and some veg sticks for snacks. Dinner will be stirfry veg with noodles. Snacks are satsuma and sf jelly.
I'm a bit stuck with when to have my 2nd fast day this week as I don't want to do 2 in a row, plus I am out tomorrow evening at the theatre, and wanted to go to gym beforehand so can't really fast then. Thursday I'm having my parents over for dinner, and Friday my planned fast day is now a works night out!

I'm gonna be at around 700 cals today
felt faint this afternoon and needed to eat something. Only had a welsh cake on me (not sure why it was in my handbag!) which was 130cals and had a banana when I got home. Sigh.
