I stick to veggie days on fast days - Cauldron sausages are 75 cals a piece - so OH and I can still eat pretty much the same thing just he gets more!
You get a bigger meal when you cut out meat I find. So although tonight is fish cakes and roasted veg, my next fast day is Wednesday and I'm making a lentil masala curry, OH will have a naan with his to bulk it out, but I that will be a big filling veggie meal for me!
Are the veggie saussages nice? What do you serve with them?
I have to say most of our fast days are veggie too... 1 out in 5 is either chicken salad or small fillet steak with roast courgette, but generally you get more/bigger portion if you go veggie I think.
Fast day for me today too!
Sorry I haven't been here in a while. The weekend before last we had a big party and visitors staying till Monday so last week we only had 1 fast day. I didn't even bother to weight myself.
Back on two this week! This is our second.
My sister says Monday and Thursday are better to keep up with.. but Thursday has never been option for us, and while I can imagine that Thursday could be easier as there are 2 non fast days in between, on the other hand what gets me through Wednesday is that it is over already this week! Silly psychology, I know.. but as I say, Thursday was never an option for us.
OH got loaaads of compliments from visitors about how good he looks.. and some notice of my flatter tummy (despite it being only 4-5lb loss) also happened... :T
White fish red thai curry with red pepper and courgette for T tonight.. one of our favourites.0 -
I think they're lovely, I serve them with roasted veggies normally, or make a sausage sarnie with low calorie bread.
Today has been horrible! I am so so so hungry!0 -
Hi everyone,
my second fast day of the week today. I fasted Monday, Wednesday & Friday last week and saw a 3lb loss so I was keen to try that again this week to see if it has the same effect.
I also find Thursdays difficult for some reason and as I don't go in to work on a Friday I don't find it difficult to fast that day.
Found some low calorie cup soups in waitrose so had one of those with 3 crackers for lunch today. I rarely eat breakfast during the week so don't miss that, but I do like some lunchSAVER0 -
Dinner was delish! Worth the wait! And only 218 cals for the curry! I will be over 500 today, but not by much I don't think. No more fasting till Monday!0

So I weighted myself this morning and only 0.2kg loss since last weighing.. Though perhaps I shouldn't be surprised, last week we only did 1 day and the last 2 weekends there was a party and visitors coming and several outings in restaurants...
Thinking of a menu for next week, thinking of trying courgette spaghetti (courgette strings being the spaghetti) with something like smoked salmon and tomato sauce... never tried it before, but bet I could get a fairly good portion for 250-300 cals?0 -
sneaky peak weigh in, wish I hadn't. Showed a gain! a gain! So staying off scales till Monday.
4 days of normal eating, but will factor in more exercise too and I will try to steer clear of alcohol, but easier said than done really...0 -
I'm still stalled.
Mrs G is dropping at an average of 0.3 lbs a week and should hit her target weight by December... just.0 -
Not weighing but FEEL good after yesterday, ( a prime motivation for me is health not just weight loss) and breaking the fast was easier than usual for me today.0

Hi All
DH and I have just this week started this diet and I have subscribed and have enjoyed reading the posts. I need to loose about 1.5 stones and he needs to shed about 3.
I think this diet plan will fit in well for us with the children as we can all eat together the rest of the week and do something special for the children on the 2 fast days.
I have scoured the supermarkets for ideas and this week the fast days have looked like this;
Breakfast is Oats so Simple made with water (130 cals)
Lunch is half a jar of low fat red pepper pate spread on 5 Crackerbreads (140 cals) plus a 10 calorie jelly
Dinner will be a jacket potato maybe with tuna but I need to work out the calories for this.
Drinks are lashings of cold water and black tea.
I know some people have all their calories in one meal but DH is diabetic so it is better for him to eat more regularly, he may not be able to keep to the 600 calories he is allowed but we will see how it goes for now. I personally prefer smaller snacky typemeals during the day rather than one large meal.
What kind of weightloss is everyone experiencing, I know with 'traditional diets' we're told 1 pound a week is a good rate for keeping the weight off long term.
Good luck everyone and I look forward to reading more hits and tips.

On a good week I am experiencing 1lb loss, on a bad one below that or stall. But then I only weighed 9st 5 lbs when I started. But I have fairly petite frame.
My OH is tall 14st 13lb man at the start and he looses roughly 3lb a week.
We also eat smaller portions, I get shakes when I go without food for too many hours so I find it better.
Also now, after 8 weeks? on it I find the days much easier. But still don't plan anything strenous for my fast days, just usual every day stuff and watching TV/reading/sewing. Not much energy on those days, but definitely improving!
Good luck 3k2j1d0
