5:2 diet

I stick to veggie days on fast days - Cauldron sausages are 75 cals a piece - so OH and I can still eat pretty much the same thing just he gets more!
You get a bigger meal when you cut out meat I find. So although tonight is fish cakes and roasted veg, my next fast day is Wednesday and I'm making a lentil masala curry, OH will have a naan with his to bulk it out, but I that will be a big filling veggie meal for me!0 -

And I do practice 5:2 and I also use veggie stock that has MSG in it as a drink on fast days (5 to 7 calories a cup), so I am hardly averse to a bit of processed junk food in moderation.
Fasting today.
To give Chameleon her due I know she has worked hard herself and lost weight and toned up and she looks great for it, and she does post stuff that is helpful and insightful. I don't think anyone here is denying that.
But on the flip side some of her posts do come across as judgemental. I'm sure I don't need to tell you Doug that weight loss is one helluva battle, whether you've got 5lbs to lose or 50. And some people really struggle and can't always just take it in their stride the way others can. So for them, the last thing in the world they need is for someone to come in and start judging them or their choices as that can have a very negative effect.
It's pretty similar to when Mr Helpful came on and tried telling everyone that 5:2 was wrong. I don't think anyone here liked that.
I just think at the end of the day this thread is here for support, and people do really need it and that's how it should stay. We're not always going to agree with each other and we are going to question some people's choices but I think there is a constructive way to do that.
Anyway, that's my say on the matter. Back to the purpose of the threadI'm fasting tomorrow and then either Thursday or Friday. Can't decide which yet as I'm going to a friend's caravan again on Friday after work so that might be a good day for a fast since by the time I finish work then get there I'll have time for an evening meal and that'll be about it.

Afternoon all
Anyone else fasting today? I have been and so far I've had some cherry toms and Greek yogurt with blueberries. Coming in at 80cals plus a couple of cuppas so 100cals or thereabouts. Then I'm having a chicken chop suey for dinner later.
I've also decided that this will be my last week of doing 5:2. From next week I'm going to shift to 6:1. I'm 1lb off my goal weight but I'm going to be starting 30 Day Shred next week too so I know I'll lose some more with that and it will hopefully help me tone up. I looked in the mirror this morning and I just thought that I was quite happy with what I saw. Still a bit of flab round the middle and top of thighs but 30DS should shift that.0 -
Thanks for the veggie tips!
Today is my first ever fast day.
I took a banana to work for breakfast but honestly didn't feel hungry til midday so didn't eat it. I had one coffee first thing and then lots of fruit tea and water to fill me. Lunch was HM Carrot&Coriander soup (69 cals). Snacked on fresh pineapple (42cals), 3 x celery sticks (9cals), cucumber portion (5cal), satsuma (33cals). Feeling a bit peckish now but will hold out for dinner shortly. Dinner will be 2 x WeightWatchers bread slice (102cals), egg (63cal), half tin of beans (164cals). That equals 487calories. I have some sugar free jelly to have later which is 8cals per quarter of sachet. Doing well even if I do say so myself* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

I'm fasting today too.
I don't particularly like fasting on Wednesdays for some reason but I was out and about and met friends for supper last night, so fasting was not practical.
I'm hoping to have soup for supper, depending on what the parent that lives with me wants. If they aren't happy to have a light supper I'll cook for them and just have some cooked veg probably. Not very much sleep last night and little verve to do much today..

Arrgh - back on 5:2 but don't seem to be able to get below 150lb! I have started going to the gym to build bone density so don't know if that's having an effect. Honestly I think its too soon to see any changes. I'll keep on 5:2 but on non fast days I go up & then back down again - very yo-yo especially as sometimes I am below 500cals!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

I was originally fasting Mondays and Thursdays, but Thursday's can be a social evening for us. Wednesdays seem to be working for me, but it does feel like lots of fasts in a quick succession, followed by eating normally for ages - might have to rethink if the weight loss stalls!0 -
Fast day for me too. Lunch is quorn and rice, and dinner is eggs of some sort.
I also wonder if I should switch to Thursdays as it always feels like I should spread the fast days out more.0
