Exciting news for me today. Lost 2lbs at my official weigh in and am now 0.5lb under my target! I am so happy!

I personally feel a still have a few lbs to go but at least now I don't have to pay to go to weigh in anymore as I'm a lifetime member and looking at Chameleon's very inspirational pics above I'm thinking I could exercise the extra inches off my thighs instead!

Just want to thank everyone on this thread for being so helpful...it's been so good to have somewhere to post on fast days and know that others have had results!

I've got to agree with what Chameleon has said. Mrs G's exercise of choice is weight training with free weights (heavy man sized weights, not the fluffy pink and baby blue silly girly ones.)

If you aren't dead-lifting near enough your own bodyweight, you aren't trying. :p

Thank you! So happy! I've lost 46.5lbs in total since last year and when I hit my plateau I didn't think I'd ever get to target. Just wish I'd tried 5:2 sooner!

Well done were you originally doing SW? I've got my 2 and a half stone award today, but been reading 5:2 and fancy combining with SW to get last 5lb off. Don't know if it's a good idea though??

    Hi

I was originally doing Scottish Slimmers which is similar to SW and WW. I still go to the weigh ins but don't tell my class manager that I'm following a different plan now!

I found SS great to start with but surviving on 1200cals a day just got boring and I couldn't sustain it long term! 5:2 really helped me get that last 1.5 stone off and I'd definitely recommend it if you've hit a bit of a wall!

  • Fasting today. Determined to get through the day. Time now is 09:45, so just a few more hours to get through.

    Just a few more hours

Just a few more hours..... (my fast-day mantra)

    Good luck to all 5:2ers.

By the way, how good is Michael Moseley looking? He was on BBC2 last night and on BBC4. Really enjoy his programmes.

I over indulged yesterday.... so although today is not a fast day, I'm trying to rein in my eating. Too much beer last night...

I'm not doing too well. Until about five weeks ago I had been steadily losing weight. However, I haven't lost an ounce or an inch since. That is despite being careful not to over indulge in non-fast days, being strict on fast days and three sessions of weight training a week. In an effort to shock my body back into losing fat, this last week I even tried fasting two days in a row twice with a day in between and cutting out alcohol completely. The net result is that the scales actually read more than they did five weeks ago. Optimistically, I wondered if the weight was built muscle rather than fat so I got the tape measure out... no change there either.

I think I must have a super efficient body. :p
