5:2 diet

Afternoon all. I decided not to fast today after all. I've had two this week so I'm happy.
Though having said that I didn't have time for breakfast this morning because my blinking car broke down so I had a 45 minute wait for the AA and when I finally got home I had time to make my dinner and that was about it. I'll be off to work in an hour. It was a mince and tatty pie from the hairy dieters book which was delicious. I had a couple of WW biscuits while waiting for the AA so I reckon I've had about 500cals today, including a latte.
So actually if I only take something light with me to work I won't be much over my fast day limitMight take some Greek yogurt with blueberries and seeds with a drizzle of honey and mixed spice, which is my new favourite snack.
Speaking of seeds, has anyone seen the new range of seeds and nuts in Aldi? I got two packets of mixed seeds yesterday. They include goji berries, sunflower & pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries and pine nuts. Only 65p too. I also got some pistachio nuts. Both make a gorgeous topping on my morning porridge too0 -
Well done pinkpetal :T
you are such an inpsiration
I struggled with the constant 1200 a day too, I constantly felt 'deprived'.
Today has been my 3rd fast day of the week - Wednesday wasn't great as I had nearly 700 calories, but I'm pleased that I've had just 511 today.
Looking forward to breakfast tomorrow, going to have coffee, porridge AND toast :rotfl:SAVER0 -
Morning all!
Well after my frustration mid-week I got on the scales this morning to see I've lost 1lbHopefully not a fluke!
I ran another 5K today too. Glad I did it when i did because the weather has gone from not nice to ruddy awful so it's a day of doing as little as possible until I go out for Italian tonight. Hopefully some of you have got better weather!
Have a great weekend everyone0 -
I'm very tempted to give 5:2 a go. I will bookmark this thread and read through the hundreds of pages later! I am veggie so if anyone has any links to veggie food for fast days I'd really appreciate them.

Just a word of encouragement to those on a plateau. I think it is quite normal on this eating plan. I plateaued for weeks before the weight began to drop off again. You just have to carry on and keep the faith and it will go.
One thing I would say though is that you mustn't diet or watch calories on non-fast days. Make sure you are eating enough. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -

I often have veggie fast days.

Second fast day. Found some lovely chicken dinners that are 12 minutes in the microwave, actually taste how you'd expect and only 272 calories. Yum
Been weighing daily (due to other health issues/water retention) and it's trending down already, weight just hasn't gone as high since my first fast day, fingers crossed I lose some over the next few weeks.
Not as hard as I thought, which I'm happy about.0 -
Weigh in and a fast day tomorrow. Not expecting a big loss. Anything would be good!
Veggie soup for lunch and then fish cake and salad planned for dinner.0 -

I often wonder when people are doing this 5:2 way of living to improve their health that they then turn to "ready meals" and convenience foods on their fast days? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
