Hello! I join:) you from today, my first day of fasting. I have waited for my husband to join me, but if he doesn't make up his mind, I will do it alone. I wish my self good luck, I want so badly to do a change in my life, and this time I really really want too! Where can I find some recipes etc? Happy fasting day everyone!August Grocery Challenge 250£/5weeks

Welcome, irinaE, and we all wish you good luck.
Here are a couple of recipes, and I actually bought the 5:2 diet book (although not made anything from it yet). People here also rave about the Hairy Dieters book - I wonder if someone could send a link to some (or even put on some of the recipes?). Otherwise, I often just have what's around. But I think you do need a calorie counter/weight monitor etc. Myfitnesspal is popular here, I use a different one as an app on my tablet. I also rather depend on a kitchen scale. But that's all you need.

Afternoon all
Hope everyone's got the same beautiful weather as we have, it's a gorgeous day.
Anyway, I got on the scales today and they're back to saying 10stone 2. So maybe I've lost 3lb this week. Who knows though after last week's confusion. I guess I'll wait til next week and see what's what. Hopefully next Saturday will be the day I finally hit 10stone nothing!
Have a great weekend folks!0 -
I fasted today and also did a CxWorx and a Metafit. GF thought she had a stomach ache starting then realised it was just her abs.
Less exiting dinner today - a sourdough rye sandwich with veggie sausages, light cheese slices and German sauerkraut. Still got some calories left. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Hi all,
Newbie here! I started the 5:2 diet back in May and lost almost a stone (12lbs) over two months before my holiday. I came back from holiday end of July and have now put everything back on (probably) - I daren't weight myself!
I'm going to get back on the wagon tomorrow, but does anyone have any words of advice for not slipping again? I really don't fancy becoming a yo-yoer!
Thought I'd join this forum as the community support thing could have been what I was lacking before?
Thanks0 -

You are not a Yo Yoer if you slip on this, you just took a slight wrong turn opn the journey, and just like a real wrong turn just turn back and rejoin the road you wanted. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

My first day ( ever) of fasting was Saturday, and it was a bit hard because I was running around after a 18 month toddler and a 5 week baby! In the same time, I was busy and at times I forgot about food :j . Felt amazing next day, but when I woke up I wanted food! Ha ha
looking forward to tomorrow, my next fast day when my husband will join me .. Maybe??;)

Oooh the healthy egg and chips looks amazing.
Today is a fast day for me. I have the biggest lunch that I don't see how I will finish it but it's basically mostly veggies and a little rice it only comes in at 305 calories. I haven't managed to find those noodles yet..0 -
Fasting today too. Glad of the break from food after yet another weekend of eating out! Going to try to keep the next couple of weekends fairly low key and eat out less...the last month has been crazy! Got my OHs 30th in 3 weeks so will save myself for that!
Just realised I said I'd look out some soup recipes...will get on that this week. Actually quite fancy making some myself as well!0 -
Not sure if this has been posted before, but some useful recipes here http://www.london-unattached.com/topics/recipes/5-2-diet-recipes/0
