hello msgnomey,
I do mine on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday since I find work distracting and also not so easy to be tempted to snack on rubbish.
The first few fast days can be tricky, but after that you get used to it.
Good luck with the loss, I too am going to lose a similar amount to you.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -

Hi all, fast day for me as well. I guzzle cold ginger and lemon tea all day, put in a jug with lemon and limes, better on hot days, but can't do much about the weather:o:o Stick with it if you are new, I find it has got easier as I go along and I am not so obsessive with the calories, I seem to know what to eat now. I always have tea and milk and then don't feel like I am going without! Youngs fish in batter, and yes a large one! With massive salad or veg and a dollop of tartar sauce. And plain yogurt for desert, that's me. I could eat something lower in calls than the fish, but just fancy it, and it is doable for 500 calls. Good luck to today's fasters:)0

Well done to everyone.
Fasting today as well.
I don't know why but the scales are just refusing to move down for me at the mo, so can't seem to shift my holiday excesses... but since I'm in it for the overall benefits, I'm still sticking to it.
Dd made me buy a skirt that is just that little bit too tight for comfort (but looks great apparently...) so I have no choice anyway:DI lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -

Fast day for me too, boiled egg for breakfast and another for lunch with green leaves and a mushroom, and lots of ginger tea.
My waist measurement hasn't changed but my trousers fit better! Strange. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
First fast day for me. We will have smoked chicken breast for dinner tonight along with barley couscous with chilli, mint, and ras hanuf spices. I need to think of some veg but was thinking of baby tomatoes
I have had 4 cups of tea with milk today and that is going to be my biggest issue. I love tea and hate it without milk. fruit teas don't do it for me so I have asked DH to get lemons and also some bovril cubes for a change.
At this point I just feel bloated and desperate to get rid of the feeling that my skin is 2 sizes too small0 -

Try having slightly less milk in your tea each time you make a cup, see if you can cut down on the milk that way without getting rid of it completely. I'm a big coffee drinker and I'm gradually doing less and less milk in my coffee this way. I don't want to do away with the milk completely as I don't like black coffee, but dark brown is palatable.
I also felt bloated the first couple of fast days I did (I'm on my 6th one today) and last Monday I felt like carp all day, was absolutely positive I wouldn't make it past lunchtime without pigging out completely, but I held firm and I did it! No-one was more surprised than I was, let me tell you :rotfl:.
I'm not being particularly good on my feast days, but I think this is the beauty of this plan - you're only really depriving yourself on 2 days a week. Its a long-term plan, not a short-term result type of deal. As long as you don't binge your head off on your feast days, you should start feeling better and seeing the results.0 -

I was on a plateau for a long long time, about 5-6 weeks I think but I kept the faith and eventually my weight started moving down again. Are you eating enough on non fast days to keep your metabolism going? The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
Fast day for me too today. Well done everyone! Just sipping hot lemon and ginger so far today. My weight is stuck again too. Weighed in Friday -no change. Not too worried though, although I don't cheat on fast days I really do eat what I fancy on non fast days, so fully expect a painfully slow weight loss. as long as it goes down eventually I am happy. Planning an omelette and huge salad for dinner tonight.:DSealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Fast day for me today as well. I've been feeling really hungry for the last hour (cycled home, so I'm guessing that's why) so I've just had a cup of vegetable bouillon and I've got an omelette and salad for later.
Haven't weighed myself for a couple of weeks but I'm not really after losing any more weight. It's more for health now."Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."0
