Hopefully I am doing this right. I haven't been particularly watching what I am eating the rest of the week. DH says otherwise, his comment was that I was becoming obsessive :( Maybe a wee bit :)

Anyway, I have never counted calories in my life as I was so skinny so I am finding that I am doing it almost religeously with myfitnesspal. It really is just to give me an idea of what I am really eating. I have discivered that my daily intake is varying between 1200 and 1600 calories which I really don't think is too bad even though I don't excercise.

Fingers crossed that this works for me. I am actually looking forward to tomorrow's fast day and I am going to have paprika chicken which according to a book I have is around 320 cals. Not sure what to serve it with, maybe some cabage with caraway.

Well done to everyone that is doing it. I find it great motivation reading the posts and it is keeping me on track.

Just had a spicy lentil soup, which is based on this BBC one but without the pinwheel and only 100g of lentils, I added a tin of tomatoes and used home made curry paste, so it only came to about 100 kcal a portion .
I added 100g of frozen spinach to my portion for a very filling and tasty soup IMO :)
Tonight it is fish curry again with bulgur wheat and of course spinach :D .
Will see how the weigh in goes tomorrow morning, though have been a bit lax on the exercise this week, as have not done any :(
Good luck to everyone else fasting, can't believe this is my 22nd week the year is flying by
Following horizon 5-2 started 28/01/13 target where I am now ish :)
Maintaining now as DW doesn't want my legs to get any skinnier :D
    Total Loss=41.6lb

well done to all those with losses I'm so impressed with the results of others, but i'm clearly doing something wrong!!!
I don't know what to say really, but do you sleep enough? It's been proven that not sleeping enough and stress can stop you losing weight.
Maybe it simply doesn't work for everyone.

Thanks Mado, yes sleep quite well. Have been quite stressed though with DS and his ADHD, Sats, School etc... but then again so has DH
Have decided to up the cardio a bit and make sure that on the non fast days I don't eat till hungry, as I tend to have breakfast etc.. more as a habit than hunger and I'm also going to ensure no carbs after 5pm on non fast days to see if that helps, as we do often eat later than I'd like, due to other commitments

Don't cut too much on non fast days as you don't want to slow your metabolism.
Do you have much you're trying to lose?

As at today I'm right back where i started in Feb!! (and I have stuck with it rigidly 5:2) Although initially I did loose a few cms around the middle I have stayed put weight wise, and the 2kgs during this period are now back - I just cant understand it as OH joined me 10 weeks ago and has lost 6kgs
I do all the food prep, coooking etc... the only difference being for his additional 100 cals on fast days he has semi skimmed (not skimmed, as I do) and 1 tsp of sugar in his teas - other than that everything is the same - he does obv eat more than me on non fast days. I even go to the gym 4/5 times a week (mix of cardio, weight pilates) when he has a very sedentary job - what can i do to see some movement?

I think it is possible that you are not eating enough on non fast days. You have to eat normally to keep your metabolism going. Don't diet on non fast days and try eating what you like. See if that makes a difference. I speak from experience having lost over a stone on this diet and I eat really well on non fast days though I don't binge or eat between meals. Apart from that there are no rules.

By the way natbags, try drinking full fat milk. On the Michael Mosley Horizon programme it was suggested that those on a high fat diet lost more weight than those on low fat. (on non fast days)

    Hi

Don't count calories on non fast days. Relax. Eat what you like without bingeing.

Thanks guys, Mado - no I don't have a huge amount to lose, but would like to get back to where I felt best, so that's 5kgs to go and tesuhoha - I'll give that a go, i usually just have a very, very small amount of skimmed milk, so I'll try and add some milk and yoghurt

Another fast day gone today, struggling to finish my meals! Wow! today's dinner was lamb hot pot Heinz chunky soup and although I know I should make my own it was really tasty! Keep up the motivation people - you can do it. I'm also trying not to get disillusioned by the lack of weight loss in the past 2 weeks but strangely feel better having days off feeling too full.
