5:2 diet

It is great to hear how well everybody is doing! Keep up the good work everybody!
Another 2 fast days today, felt heavy after the weekend as I'd had 4 days normal eating so was apprehensive of the first fast of the week but it went fine. Today is another fast day but I had a cappuccino this morning so had to forgo lunch due to the unintentional calorie intake. Doh. Weigh/measure day tomorrow, I just hope I've kept off the initial week 1 - 4lb loss, anything more will be a bonus.Would love any tips/recipes. Is there a recipe thread for this?
My menu is based around lunch and dinner, this works well for me. Lunch is small salad with 2 slices of ham and a boiled egg. Dinner is 200g soup with 100g noodles and a small salad (often mixed into the soup). I eat the same thing each fast day just so I get into a routine which works for me as I don't mind eating the same thing regularly plus I'm loving the noodles!0 -
Help!
I had started this diet some time back, did really well, I lost about 8 or 9 lbs, went on a cruise, gained some, got disheartened and gave up. TBH the figures and time-scales are all a blur, I think they're buried
But quite honestly, this is ridiculous, I'm eating like a pig and getting bigger and I was MUCH happier lighter and in control. My clothes are not fitting and I can't afford a new wardrobe.
So, yesterday was a fast day, easy peasy, felt great this morn. However, it's the feast days I find hard and evenings are the worst. I'm struggling not to eat tonight. I know technically I can eat what I like, but I'm not hungry and it's just boredom. I've had approx 1900 cals.
I need to stop quitting and stick to what works. I'm not getting on the scales, because if I gain or even stay the same, I tend to think s*d it.
So, here we go again and this time, I'm not giving up. I'll weigh myself once a month to prevent the depression of being hung up on a number and I'll start to weigh next month on the first of each month.
Good luck everyone, you're all an inspiration and I've subscribed to keep me motivated. Now to trawl back through the recipesDEBT LBM-3.10.2011Total debt-6800  09.09.13-zero

Could you give yourself a 'reward' for losing? So say you lost 1lb this week, reward yourself with *insert whatever you like* possibly a facial/pedicure/new book, just something to motivate you going forward? Maybe have a goal that when you have lost 5lb say, that you treat yourself to a new outfit?Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
weigh in this morning. Lost another 2.5lb. I am doing 3:4 instead of 5:2 as I wanted to have a quicker start. Am now the number below my starting weight - in stones.:TMortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0

My 2nd fast today - was supposed to be tomorrow, but it's payday tomorrow and so might not be able to control myself lol.
Yesterday I had sugar overload, another reason for bringing fast forward a day. Cinema with crisps and choc in the morning, then tea and cakes at a friend'shouse afterwards. Then made bangers and mash at home. Then a friend came round with red wine, chocs and icecream
I held back on the red wine, just had a glass, but helped myself to everything else. So altogether not the healthiest of days.
Finding today hard, keep nibbling! So far had:
options hot choc (40) tea with milk and agave (30)
strawberries (30) pear (30)
veg sausage (100)
May share a frozen battered cod portion with my daughter later, for 120 cals, with some salad.
Also thought a veg sausage (100) yorkshire pud (50) tbsp mash potato (30) carrots (30) and teeny bit of gravy might be a nice fast day dinner sometime.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
I'm feeling despondant with my weight. I am back on gabapentin for nerve pain and each time I pile weight on. I was the original skinny Minnie and was until 5 years ago around the 9 stone mark. I hit 11stone today and feel so uncomfy so really need to drop a stone.
The extra weight while it may not seem a lot is playing havoc with my back and leg pain. Hopefully this method will work for me as I am seriously restricted exercise wise as well.
My difficulty will be what to eat on fast days has I have never counted calories in my life. Suggestions will be gratefully received and I will check in each evening and home to gain encouragement by doing it with like minded folk :T
Tomorrow is my fast day. I smoked chicken breasts today and we will have this with barley couscous with chilli, mint and spices. DH is going to do it with me even tho he only needs to loose about 8 lbs :rotfl:

I know someone who has lost 5 stone whilst on these tablets. It's taken a very very long time but they are getting there and I hope you get to a weight you feel happy at too.
Looking forward to my fast day tomorrow. Want to get to 9 stone but 10 stone will doI think I'll take Spirit's advice and treat myself to some much needed clothes when I lose half a stone. Or rather get to 10 and a half cos I'm not sure what I am atm
I'm finding the feast days tough to control. I'm figuring that if I avoid a full out binge that's progress for now. Babysteps. Tomo I'll have cauliflower cheese soup which I love.

Well I haven't been on for quite a bit now. To be honest I haven't even bothered with the diet for about 3/4 weeks. I got so fed up of pushing myself to lose weight it was doing my head in.
Anyway I got back from Paris yesterday and I'm not going to lie, I didn't hold back.Too much of my favourite bread/pastries!
Overall with the couple of weeks before my hols and then this past week I've eaten terribly. I've put on 3lbs all in all.
So I'm back on it today and I'm having a fast day. Had a couple of cuppas so far and a slice of toast. Feeling good, and I definitely need it.
Good to see everyone still doing so well and nice to see more new faces.
That's the beauty of this diet isn't it? You know you can just take it up again at any time to get back on track and it feels good. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -

Don't be too tough on yourself. Eat what you fancy on non fast days. You won't binge if you can eat what you want. If you think about it two fast days a week of 500 calories is a massive calorie deficit over say one month. Therefore you can afford to relax a bit on non fast days and you need to eat to keep up your metabolism.
So if you want some chocolate or ice cream then go ahead and enjoy. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
