I have ended up getting almost back to the weight I was before I started the 5:2 - totally ashamed of myself:o What with Easter, Birthday, Wedding Anniversary and Bank Holiday I have just been an absolute piggy:o

So, OH and I are planning to restart our efforts and have two days with just soup and a thin slice of bread as the main meal of the day. Drastic action is definitely needed. I just love food and eating so much and gave up smoking 5+ years ago, which I am sure helped to keep the weight in check.

Will report back when I am back on track:eek:
Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time

Supper of 392 cals consumed this fast day and that's my lot for today. Water sipping continues until bed. Very difficult on a bank holiday with everyone everywhere eating all around. Well done fellow fasters :0)

Well.........I weighed myself this morning and it's not good! I'm now 14st 4 lbs which means I've put 3st on in 3 years....a stone a year:eek: this has to stop right now, I need to get a grip!!!!

Now I know it's taken me 3 years to put it on, but I'm hoping to get it off in less than half that time, in time for my 50th birthday, I want to be fabulous at 50 not frumpy.

My first fasting day is tomorrow, quite nervous about it as I have a major sugar/carb addiction going on and I thinking I'll be having the shakes and collywobbles all day long. Is the first fast day always the worst?
What if every single day I did everything within my capability........What could I achieve in a day? a week? a year? 5 years?

Fast day tomorrow, I was going to make the soup today ready for tomorrow, but had a busy day, I'm going to have to wing it.
Well done to all who fasted today, good luck to those fasting tomorrow

Ladylulu - Not always ;) it's my seventh fast today and I haven't struggled at all, although I do have an awful lot of weight to lose :o . Good luck with it tomorrow!

    Hi

3 stone in 1.5 years is totally achievable - the average on this diet is 1lb a week - so 78lbs (5.5 stone approx) in 18 months - so you will definatly be fabulous at 50!!

The first day is the hardest, but after a week or so you get into the habit and it becomes much easier. I wouldn't say I look forward to my down days as such, but there is a great feeling of achievement when I've done them and I don't dread them at all.

Good luck - if you're feeling tempted by anything - post on here instead!

Hi, I wondered if I could join in please? :)

I decided to start on a fast day today and have had just fruit and low fat yoghurt so far. I plan to have an omelette with beans for tea. I have been drinking tea and coffee throughout the day though with a little milk in, is that ok to have? I have had an apple at lunch time rather than nothing at all.

I have around 3st to lose so plan to start slowly and change my eating habits overall. I'm going to start and meal plan each week which I have never done so wish me luck. :)

    Hi everyone!

Welcome to all the newbies :)

Ally - I have milk in my tea (usually a couple at work) during fast days, you should be fine :)

Afm - Only lost 1/2 inch this week so was pretty miffed but feeling more positive now. I had to (its a BH don't judge me :D) change my FD from yesterday to today but am feeling ok about it.

I usually try and make my meals myself but opted for a frozen weight watchers meal today - Sweet and Sour Chicken 315cals and shockingly it was LOVELY.

Does anyone else eat these? Are there any others which taste nice?

hi faith2009uk,im only on my 2nd fast day but im using weightwatchers frozen meals as my evening meal as i just find it easier. i had chilli with rice today which looked a bit gross but was lovely! i had cottage pie on my 1st fast day but thats very low in cals so i added some steam microwave veg to it and made a tiny amount of gravy with gravy granules & that was quite nice too.
i also had the chicken curry on sunday night with a weightwatchers mini naan (wasnt a fast day) and that was also a lot nicer than it looked!!
im feeling a bit headachey now but the days seem easy its just after tea.....
im craving treats as OH is sitting here eating cookies! :-(((
