    Hello again,

Thanks to all those who shared their gym experience/advice/opinions.

I decide to have a banana about an hour before going. i think this was more for psychological benefit so I wouldn't worry about fainting on the treadmill. (Hoe awful would that be)

Jogging session went great, no loss of performance whatsoever, the weights were so so, although this was more a concentration thing than anything else.

I have to say i was absolutely ravenous afterwards though

I'm not intending of making it a regular thing, I like my routine of alternate fast days and gym days but its good to know that when something comes along (not one, but two nights out - get me!) The ever flexible 5:2 can accomodate

I noticed in my previous post I wrote wookoot. That was a typo not me using a geordie accent

Pardon my ignorance, but what's 16/8? Is it what I'm thinking where you fast for 16 hours then eat a certain amount within 8 hours?

Yes that's right. I found I had to be strict about no sugar or snacks, just two meals of healthy fresh foods, and sipping water always. I didn't eat after 7pm, something I'm continuing as I feel better for it, then no breakfast the next day, just water or herbal tea, lunch after 12 noon but before 1.30pm, dinner at 6pm. It helped clear up my bunged-upness from 5:2 but to stick to the weight I'd dropped to meant constant vigilance on the calories.
If the diet is no longer working it's better to make a small change for a couple of weeks and then go back to try again rather than abandon completely.

I stayed the same for a very long time too, but then had quite a few "blow out " sessions so was happy to keep stable.
I started moving down again after starting a new (additional) class at the gym.
Now I'm just getting back to where I was after holiday splurge ().
I think that for most it really works as weight loss diet if your metabolism needs readjusting; if it's in balance and you have very little weight to lose (which i think is your case), it's not so effective?

If you feel tired, miserable and headachy then maybe it's not right for you. I find the fast days easy and I like the control it gives me.

Yes I have about a stone more to lose, maximum, but if this isn;t for me then nothing is - I hate diets and won;t do them. I don;t even own scales. I find it all very unhealthy counting calories all day every day.

    *sigh*

Maybe you're not eating enough, and slowing down your metabolism? Also Yoga can be making your muscles retain water. Have you measured?

Good luck - hope things start moving for you v soon.

I'm not eating less than I ate before though, so if that's the case then it always has been!

Didn;t know about the yoga/water thing - do you have any links? It's interesting.

As I said, I will have to stop when TTC anyway as I have read some scary things about fasting and fertility in women, so there's only a couple of months left anyway.

Good morning everyone. We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Crete. It was based around the food and drink of the area. We have eaten huge amounts of food; 3 courses twice a day with alcohol!!!! Did wonder what the damage would be on returning but found I have put on just 3lbs.

Not worried, as I now feel totally in control of my food intake. I know that small increase will soon disappear.

Good luck everyone - here's to a slim, healthy future for us all.

I checked my TDEE on 3 different calculators on the web - they all showed different amounts so I averaged them and arrived at 1600 calories a day as a maximum. I ate between that and 1000 cals a day depending on how hungry I felt. Better to give the body what it wants within reason. :D

Fast day today definitely will have to have my soup soon, though at moment am trying to decide if I should move my Monday fast to Tuesday, what with it being a bank holiday, think I will have to if we have a BBQ on Monday :D
Went trying on trousers in Matalan on Tuesday, and the size I expected to fit in we're very loose but the next size down were too tight. It was still nice to find the the trousers too loose, obviously I know different brands size differentb but still :D
Following horizon 5-2 started 28/01/13 target where I am now ish :)
Maintaining now as DW doesn't want my legs to get any skinnier :D
    Total Loss=41.6lb

I am having the same problem! I am thinking either Tuesday and Thursday or Wednesday and Friday - ideally I'd choose Wednesday and Thursday but I dont think two days in a row would be good as I'm going to be active on Thursday. Might be just one day this week. Hmmmmm. . . .

On really positive note I am still loosing weight on this diet :T very slowly but I am happy with that!

Same thing here re the clothes. I went to New Look a while back and tried on a pair of jeans that were a size smaller than what I'm wearing now and they were a tad too tight. But my clothes are all massive.

Not tried anything on for a while though and I'm thinking I must be at least a 14 (been a 16 for ages). With all the inches I've lost alongside the weight I must be a size lower at least.

Weigh in today and see I have lost 2 lb this week :j and was prepared for it to be the same weight as last week.
Fast day yesterday went okay though was tempted, when cutting some fresh crispy bread for my son and would of so loved a piece and then he didnt finish his mint choc ice cream so had to dump it :(.
But at least I resisted the temptation :D.
Good luck to all fasting, I think I deserve a treat tonight
