Thank you everyone who posts - I'm still running (well - staggering!
) after the wagon to climb back on having fallen off a couple of weeks ago. Feel a failure, and noone but me to blame! Seeing how well everyone is getting on is definitely a help, so thanks! The wagon is in sight, at least!

Bennifred - repeat after me 'I am not a failure, I am a wonderful person and I will be slimmer and healthier in the future'. See that wasn't too hard was it? There is no 'failure' with this system; it is a long term eating pattern. So in a years time, when you look back, you will have forgotten this small blip and just feel very pleased with what you have managed to achieve.
My weight loss works out at .5lb a week. Hardly measureable but I am 2 dress/trouser sizes smaller. How amazing is that? My aim is to lose another stone over the next 12 months. No problems with going out or having holidays just a nice relaxed, gentle loss.
I remember reading a piece of advice from Weig** W*tch*rs to someone going to a wedding - it was to take her own food in a plastic box!!!!!! Knew that system wasn't for me, if one day could completely ruin a weight loss.
Good luck and remember 'I am not......'0 -
Stupid me thought it would be a good idea to weigh myself in Boots on their electronic scales !
Not really a good idea as they vary from the scales I have been using all along, unfortunately in the upwards direction, luckily I know the weight I have lost is real as can see it, but in future will stick to my scales
Following horizon 5-2 started 28/01/13 target where I am now ish
Maintaining now as DW doesn't want my legs to get any skinnier
Total Loss=41.6lb0 -
Hi everyone, i hope there is room for a little one in the thread. I have just bought and read the book (and another one by a lady who wrote a book after following it) and i am currently on my first fast day. I downloaded myfitnessal and have used that as a calorie counter which is brilliant. I won't normally fast on a saturday as i am home but i was just eager to get into it today and start. I had a cup of soup which was a waste of 56 calories as i can have 3 sticks of celery for that!
Dinner is in the oven which is cod (170 calories) and vegetables (95) which takes me up to 450 for today. I'll weigh some strawberries or something to make it up to 500 or maybe a hot chocolate.
Just off now to read some of this thread - not all 122 pages though!!!!Trying to save money and always open to ideas and expecting our first child in March 2015.0 -

If it helps me lose I'll read them! I am also following slimming world which I think is a good diet as it encourages healthy eating with lots of fruit and veg. I am planning on doing that on the other 5 days a week so I know that I am being sensible and doing well but will try and track my calories as well as I love the app. I met a friend today for a dog walk and ended up having a run so its a good feeling to know I have burnt off more calories Than i have eaten.
On reading I can see that celery and mushrooms are very very low in calories, is there anything else that is as low that I can nibble on if I get hungry. Thanks everyone in advance and exec to see me on here loads now. XTrying to save money and always open to ideas and expecting our first child in March 2015.0 -
Just have to share this gem sent to my Facebook page. It explains a lot!
Do not wash your hair in the shower as the shampoo runs down your body as you rinse. Haven't you read the label? Adds extra body and volume. That is why we all gain weight, nothing to do with eating! Use dishwasher soap as the label says - dissolves fat that is otherwise difficult to remove!
There problem solved. Now why didn't I think of that?0 -

My snack of choice at the moment is pickled onions. Maybe not the first thing that springs to mind but they are around 23cal per 100g or so, it gives me the crunch I need.
So after my wobble which has lasted the best part of the month - I'm back on track. All my meals are planned, my snacks are planned, I'm calorie counting on my non fast days to give me a bit of focus and I've taken a couple of pics to give me the real push I need. I'm the biggest fan of take measurements it's not all the scales, I need to remind myself of that!
So today is a fast day - I usually have a big sunday dinner so I'm adjusting it slightly to have loads of veg, not much potato and a quorn fillet for around 400cals then have a small salad later on for supper. All in all around 550 cals.0 -
Thanks crumble pie I am going to do my measurements tomorrow first typing and I had another quick runs this morning. Wej have a BBQ at our tomorrow afternoon so I thought I might use that as a fast day as I can fill p on salad and chicken kebabs which are low without anyone thinking I'm not eating anything!!! I'll have time for a run in the morning as well. XTrying to save money and always open to ideas and expecting our first child in March 2015.0

Hi Peeps!
Is there room for another one on here? My weight has been going up over the last 3 years and I'm at the point now where I have only one pair of trousers and one skirt I can fit into  I certainly don't want to start buying clothes in the next size up, so drastic action is needed before there is some seam splitting going on!
I shall weigh myself tomorrow morning and report back with the shameful number :huh:What if every single day I did everything within my capability........What could I achieve in a day? a week? a year? 5 years?0
