Hi, I started the 5:2 nearly 2 weeks ago and am surprised at how easy I'm finding it
my body obviously needed the break! Have lost 6lb so far. Hope everyone has a good weekend whether they are fasting or not

Thank you Pinksleepybear, I will give this a go. Maybe it was just a bit too much and I need to take it slow. Going to have another go tomorrow.Debt free (finally) and saving a deposit for my first home.0 -
Just had a lovely non-fast day brunch, and thankfully my DW put her leftovers directly in the food bin, as not sure if my will power could resist leftover bacon
Now off to prep curry sauce for tomorrow and Thursdays fast day, week 14 and it seems to have flown by.Following horizon 5-2 started 28/01/13 target where I am now ish
Maintaining now as DW doesn't want my legs to get any skinnier

What time does your shift start? If you'd been sleeping you wouldn't eat so I think I'd try to last out as long as I could on Monday - maybe have a drink or a cup of soup & go to bed (if that's what you do) then have your calories later in the day?Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

I think I need to come back on this - I failed miserably a few weeks ago cos I weighed myself, had put on 5lbs and got all depressed about it - what I forgot was that it was directly pre-grumpy week,so I was going to be heavier.... Im such an idiot !!
Back up to what I was when I started now, I felt suprisingly great doing 5:2 though, so have to regain my willpower to do it again.
It CAN be done.... cant it???Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -

I lost just under 2lbs this week but that brought me to 17st. Probably the lowest I have been since leaving the army in 1991.The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

I put mine on after leaving the RFA in 2001, getting used to eat only what you need is what this diet/ life plan is teaching me, but still allowing for a blowout occasionallyFollowing horizon 5-2 started 28/01/13 target where I am now ish

Hello everyone haven't posted for a while but glad to see everyone doing so well. Even those who have fallen off the wagon I'm sure you'll soon be backon track.
I'm looking for a bit of advise from those who go to the Gym on fast days.
I don't usually combine the two , but due to other commitments I will be today.
My preferred method is to get by all day on coffee and water and use all my calories at dinner. However I don't think thats a good idea for the gym.
My workoot consists of 30 minutes on the treadmill followed by another twenty minutes on the weight machines
So any tips from others that do this? I was thinking maybe have a banana about 30 minutes before or maybe something more substancial at lunchtime?0
