Fasting today. Have some cherry tomatoes for grazing on (60 Calories worth) and will organise something for later (probably using sweet potato). The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

As others have said - measure as well as weigh. You might find no change in your weight but a steady loss of inches.0 -
Hi all. I have read all the posts since January..took ages:) Well it sounds great so have had a go, on 2nd fast day today and find it easy so far, I can go all day knowing I could eat a good meal about 7pm. Grazing would be no good because I need a "proper dinner". So far I have done warmed veg tossed in salad, and tuna salad today with Weight watchers yogurts. But I have done huge filling portions and had milky tea and even a cappuccino. I also find couscous and roast veg very filling, so that will be next.
The problem I have is this, on using my fitness calculator, I always come under the daily recommended amounts except protein, where I go just over. Is this ok because I read in one post that you need to lower protein intake! Am I wrong?
Sorry for long intro and have loved reading your posts. Thanx0 -
Found a really yummy 315 calorie meal in M&S today. Chicken with vegetable ratatouille and sour cream, YUM. Quite tempted to go in tomorrow and buy another 10 and just never eat anything else!:rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf:0

Morning all
Havne't posted for a while, but have been sticking to the 5:2 way of life and exercising regularly ... never thought I'd be able to say that lol and the weight is slowly creeping down. I have a friend doing Cambridge at the moment, and it's really hard seeing her losing 2 stone in the same time it's taken me to lose just over a half. But funnily it's not so hard when I'm eating a yummy pizza or going for a meal out. Plus, odds are she'll put it all back on when she stops (I hope she doesn't, and will try and get her to come on 5:2).
And I know it's a bit late but ElizaBunny I just wanted to say congrats for not only fasting while on hols, but also losing weight - you're my inspiration
Good luck to all fasters today - and enjoy those cals all who aren't!

Thanks for this. As I said, I wondered if anyone else had seen it.
We've just been away for a couple of nights. Came back yesterday, had breakfast in the hotel and then on the way home we had some M&S sandwiches and a box of melon pieces. We parked near a village green, cricket pitch and village church somewhere in Kent, and the church clock struck 1 pm. Well, after that neither of us felt hungry at all, so I haven't eaten from then until breakfast at 8.30 am, so that was several hours of 'fasting'. I think it was easier overnight, though, because obviously not thinking about food or reminded about food in any way. Yesterday, for breakfast I had a small amount of muesli and yogurt, the sandwiches were egg and watercress. We've just now had scrambled egg with chopped onion and half a slice of wholemeal bread and a scrape of marmalade.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

Decided to measure my waist this morning & yipee :j I'm 1/2 inch off being out of the 'danger zone' according to my BHF tape measure. I was 35inch & now I'm 32inch - FD today - Onward & downward!!!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

I was stuck at the same weight for a couple of weeks too but I had taken measurements at the beginning so was pleased to see an inch of my bust and half an inch off my waist. Weigh in is tomorrow after my FD today and I have a feeling its starting to shift again."Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0

Weighed my self this morning and have a new low of 13st 2lbs (down from 14st 13 lbs last August). I have tried recently to eat a bit more sensibly on my non-fast days so I'm hoping today will be one of them. Binging is the danger, so just have to make sure I have the right sort of foods in the house.
Today it's Avacado for breakfast with 5 types of nuts(just a few of each) with some orange juice standing by for a mid morning snack(if I need it). Fruit salad and possibly a nice soup for lunch. I don't worry about the fats as much as I used to as the body does need some and they do keep the hunger down. A small amount of fat on a fast day seems to help me through it as well.0
