Weigh-in day today, I'm happy to report a weight loss of just under 3 lbs (2 ounces under
) . I've almost completed my fast day today, it hasn't been too difficult. I had soup for lunch, I was going to make the spicy tomato and lentil soup, (the recipe is from the London-Unattached website) but didn't have all the ingredients. Fortunately I found a Baxter Chicken Broth soup - 162 calories, and then had chicken and vegetables for dinner. I've still got around 90 calories to spare, I don't feel hungry, so I probably won't eat them.

Hi everyone,
I would like to join you all on this adventure If that's ok! I need moral support, guidance and meal ideas!
A little about me - I'm a mum with 3 young children and I'm studying a degree. My husband works full time and is studying a degree with OU in the evenings so life is hectic! I have said for years I need to start a diet but as usual I barely start. I wouldn't say I eat unhealthy but I do have a few 'bad' days and I overeat.
I don't own scales but I would say I am now close to 13stone, this keeps increasing slowly without me noticing. I was flicking through some photos on FB last night of photos just before I met DH 5 years ago and I couldn't believe how thin my legs and face looked. It became apparent I need to do something now! My poor DH never signed up for me! lol
Anyway I'm treating today as a fast day - I am going to start with Tuesday and Thursdays and see how I get on. Instead of my normal cup of tea Iv had a nice green tea with blueberries. At lunch I'm going to have a cup a soup and for tea I'm making everyone a fish pie so Ill have a portion of plain cod and plain vegetables on the side. I'm not an expert with calorie counting but do you think this is ok?
Looking forward to joining you all on the journey and hopefully buying some scales on payday!Saving needed to emigrate to Oz*September 2015*

Hi just read it online, and is similar to the horizon one, though seems to be telling you what to eat on your non fast days, not sure if feast day was the right word to use, but I suppose that depends what your idea of feasting is
I tend to self regulate what I eat on feast days, though I do like my treats of red wine and cheese:)
What I'm doing now is working for me at moment so shall stick with it :beer:Following horizon 5-2 started 28/01/13 target where I am now ish
Maintaining now as DW doesn't want my legs to get any skinnier

Anyone read her version of intermittent fasting? In 2009, in an article in the Sunday Times with regards Hamilton's detox fertility programme, consultant obstetrician and spokeswoman for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Dr Virginia Beckett stated that Hamilton's claims were not supported by scientific or medical research, and Mike Lean, Professor of human nutrition at Glasgow University, described her treatments to boost fertility as "quack medicine".[16] Hamilton made a statement to clarify her position, stating: "I have never made any claim that nutrition can “unblock tubes” – this is simply not true. I make no statement on the effectiveness or otherwise, of treatments other than Nutrition to assist with fertility issues."[17]The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Weighed myself today, just 1lbs lost
guess I need to be better on my feast days... I have sorta been thinking I can eat what I like (chocolate, sticky toffee pudding, burgers, crisps...) but I suppose I need to be better.
Fasting today, home made chicken soup for lunch and some quorn meatballs for dinner.0 -
Oh dear, think I may have tipped from feast days into binge days. First week loss only 0.9lbs- didn't even manage a whole lb0

Voucherlover - remember to take your measurements as well.
So far I've been doing this 8 weeks, it's my eight week weigh in today and so far I've lost 5lbs, which if I was looking at it purely from a weight point of view doesn't sound good.
I stayed at the same weight for 4 weeks in a row. I had a couple of weeks where I had a cold/flu thing and didn't fast at all.
BUT I have lost loads of inches - so far around 3 inches of my tummy and fitting nicely into a size smaller trousers than I was.
It's working for me, even if the weight loss itself is slow.0 -
Thanks. I must take measurements. One of the reasons for doing this is that my trousers don't really fit any more.
I also realised that I have about 12lbs to loose, so that is 7.5% of the total. It was probably unrealistic to think that 3lbs or a quarter of the weight would magically fall off in a week I ate like the very hungry caterpillar.0 -
Went to do some gardening today, so put on my old jeans I used to wear before I started this diet, they were quite roomyFollowing horizon 5-2 started 28/01/13 target where I am now ish

Hello
I posted back in Aug/Sept when I first started after seeing the programme then I lost my way. Have been following you all, for the past couple of months and now think its time get posting again to keep me on track. Have been doing the fasts successfully for the past 2 months, I find I cannot go all day without as it causes too many questions from colleagues so now I ensure I have a small salad to take to the canteen. Yesterday was a fast day had lentil and aduki bean soup for dinner. Lentil soup is my fall back dinner for fast days as I'm veggie and it provides the protein without too many calories. What do other veggies have on fast days? Current weight is 161lbs or 11 1/2 stone that's half a stone lost since Feb which I'm very pleased with.WL 11 st 5lb as at 050109. 160209 11st 2lb
11st 5lb as at 20.04.09 11st 7lbs 040509 11st6 010609 I wish 2016 175 lbs.
