1lb is better than nothing, don't be so hard on yourself. Everyone's different and one look round here and you'll see that folk have been losing at all different speeds.

Just try not to get too disheartened and keep going. You might be surprised next time you get on the scales, weight loss can be so up and down.

Fast for me today. Where's spring?! I've been freezing all day, didn't warm up until I hit the gym then had to go back out in it and wait for my bus :o

I have a feeling I'm becoming a gym addict. I sit at work all day wishing I was in there and looking forward to finishing so I can go. Here's hoping it all pays off before long!

And I've just tried sweet potato for the first time, they're lovely! Had one with an egg white omelette with tomato and rocket. Lovely :)

Keep up the good work everyone! :T

ebaybaby - have you taken measurements as well? I have stayed the same weight for the past few weeks but I'm now wearing a size smaller and lost inches off my tummy and thighs. I'm hoping there is an actual weight loss soon to go with the inch loss.

I cheat by giving myself 600 cals and find that gives me the leeway I need to not feel like I'm starving myself, and still drink coffee with milk. I have one fast day when I'm working and on that day I have a picnic of small snacky things to keep me going through the day, but on the other one I eat two small meals.

Today was supposed to be a fast day for me. I lasted until 3pm but I'm full of cold and feel bleurgh (technical term!) and needed to eat, so I'm eating normally today. So my low cal days will be towards the end of the week, when I'm hopefully feeling better.

Isn't 1 pound what you are expected to lose each week with this diet? Why would you be disappointed by that?

Reading the posts it seems most are finding the fast days much harder during this horrible spell of bad weather. I am lucky, in that I don't have to go out, but can stay indoors in the warm but I do find it much harder to be active. Just feel like curling up with a blanket and hot water bottle! I do feel sorry for you all and send lots of hugs to help you get through. It will get warmer soon - I'm hoping the power of positive thinking actually works so will keep repeating this mantra!

Did a really daft thing yesterday; I made 3 cakes. What was I thinking? Today is a fast day so not a good idea to have so much temptation. I did impress myself with my self disipline though. I cut them up and put them in the freezer without, yes without, tasting. Normally I lick the spoons and scrape out the bowl (doesn't everyone?) but this time I filled the sink with hot water and dropped them in immediately. Will reward myself with a piece of coffee and walnut tomorrow. Nibbling on a piece of frozen cake makes it last much longer so it seems a bigger portion.

    Another fast day on Wednesday.

Been lurking on this thread and finally decided to post. I got the diet details elsewhere and started almost 4 weeks ago-doing my 8th fast day now, but would love somewhere to come and chat about it so can I join lol.

I started at 16 1/2 stone and yesterday weighed in at 15 stone 8 so hoping for the full 1 stone loss by the end of this 4th week.

I found the fast days hard at first, but they have become so much easier. I still feel hungry, but its less than it used to be and it is easier to ignore. DD1 put her arms around me tonight and was gobsmacked that where 1 month ago she couldn't touch her fingers together, tonight she could clasp her hands together.

It is amazing and I feel much more energetic than I have in years. But the best thing is those "sugar" or "I need chocolate/something sweet" cravings I have had all my life have gone!!!

Even on the feast days I find I can take or leave those tasty treats. Don't get me wrong I still enjoy them on the feast day, but I eat less and don't feel like I "need" the peice of cake or whatever, I am in control and can choose to have a treat or not. I really can't believe how much it has changed my feelings about food in such a short time. The weight loss is amazing of course but for me that change in control where food no longer controls me and I control what I eat and when is priceless. I also have stopped that mindless sort of eating and so even on feast days am eating o much less than before.

Its amazing and I can't believe it really what a brilliant way of eating. Does anyone else get almost a high feeling when on the fast days, sort of a light feeling?

I have a LOT to lose and I really thought given the amount I usually eat I would have seen a bit more of a difference. I didnt overindulge on feast days either.

What you have to remember is when you put the weight on it probably didn't go on more than a 1lb a week. If you continued steadily putting on 1lb per week it wouldn't be long before you were grossly overweight. This diet takes a bit of perseverance and patience but it does work. Slow weight loss is better than fast because it is more likely not just water you are losing. With slow weight loss it goes down gradually but you do get there.

Since I started this diet in August I have lost weight very slowly. I have now lost over a stone without trying very hard. All the fat has melted from around my waist and I cannot pinch an inch now. My fat stomach has disappeared. Its the best diet ever and I would not be disappointed with 1lb because some weeks you might find yourself stuck on the same weight and you might find this goes on for a while. You just have to stick at it and then you will find it dips down again. If you stick at it you will be rewarded.

    Hi

I also have a LOT to lose (about 5 stone ) and it's going slowly on this diet - but i have read it takes a good few weeks for your body to realise what you're doing. I also have to agree with the posters above, the first few weeks I didn't lose much at all, but dropped a size in clothes ... not sure how that worked, but I'm not going to complain! :)

Keep at it and measure yourself (I wish I did from the start!).

    Good Luck!

    Morning all

Well Kettlercise yesterday was hard! I need to do some regular squats to get those flabby thigh muscles into shape - my legs were like jelly by the end of the class and today they feel completely shot (I guess Spinning Sunday didnt help either hehe).

It's so hard knowing that even with sticking to the eating plan and doing lots more exerccise that I have ever done the scales are refusing to budge. But I'm generally a practical person and over the week I'm eating an average of at least 20% below my TDEE AND doing the exercise - so it has to work ... right?? So I'm just tying to ignore the scales and carry on - will give myself 2 more months and if nothing's changed by then, i'll have a rethink! (at least I'll be fitter lol).

    Happy Tuesday everyone!

FD Yesterday - found it more difficult 'cos its so cold but kept going with hot drinks. Weigh in this morning & stayed the same but happy with that 'cos its not going up! Off to see the dressmaker this morning for a fitting 'cos she's altering my clothes for me as some were much to good to get rid of. I've only got a few more pounds to go so I'm only expecting ounces to go now. i'll keep at it until the end of April & then just maintain.
