  • Good afternoon everyone,

I have been reading through some of your posts, still many pages to read!

OH and myself are about to start week 4 on Monday, so far so good.

    OH start weight = 11.3 Today = 10.8

    Me start weight = 10.12 Today = 10.1

Very impressed with weight loss so far, and find it quite easy to fast twice a week on 500/600 calories.
On non fast days, we do not seem to eat as much as previously.:)

I'm quite astounded at the effect this diet is having on my appetite! Normally even if I skipped breakfast I'd be ravenous by 12pm for lunch. I've only just ate (after 2pm) today and only had a toasted hot cross bun, cuppa, and a couple of small choc biccies.

Met a couple of friends on one of my fast days this week, they were eating paninis and sausage rolls whilst I just had a low fat yogurt (and very nice it was too!) They hated the idea of this "fad diet". Tried to explain it to them but they weren't convinced. *shrug* Has anyone else had a similar reaction from friends? Hopefully in a month's time they'll see the results for themselves ;)

Would not eating enough on non fast days stop the weight loss?

Wore a top I haven't worn for ages and it's really loose! If i'd have washed it between I would have sworn it's shrunk.

Not weighed in yet though ;)

No, at least, not based on my reading. The 500 calorie daily limit is just a number plucked out of the air. It allows just enough food for the majority of people to stay on the diet knowing that they can eat normally the next day.

Zero calories should increase the overall weight loss but, unfortunately, not many people can last that long with absolutely no food. The important thing is to maintain a normal calorie intake on the non fast days. 'Normal' means based on your BMR.

Mrs G came home with a set of these this afternoon. The weight reading tallies with our other scales and they give loads of extra info as well. Not bad for £12.99

Ahh, I'm pretty sure my subtlety meter is broken with the stress, sorry :)

Bakeries started to offer deals on bread + milk today to help out people who were struggling. Crazy times.

Made pizza for dinner today, haven't made it for a couple of months but it is one of our 'favourites' and, because of the weather, we both felt we needed cheering up! Made exactly the same size, using the same recipe, and normally we eat it all. I have over half of mine left and I'm really full. OH has about 1/4 left. Obviously tummy shrinking without the pain of surgery!! Very pleased about this but hate wasting pizza. Have made a note on recipe to use half quanties in future.
I know we are eating less but without feeling we are missing out on anything. Wish I had heard of this wonderful system (don't like using the 'd' word) years ago then I wouldn't have gone without for a few weeks and then put back any weight I'd lost because I really fancied something or was tempted. Then I'd eat a bit more as I felt guilty and useless. I expect most of us have gone round and round like this. I doubt there is a diet around that I haven't followed over the years. I really think/know this isn't going to happen again. 10st here I come. Only another 12lbs to go! I was 13st 6lbs in Jan 2012 and have gone from size 18 to 14. Nothing feels better than buying size 14 trousers:)
Good luck everyone - good health and a slim body are out there just waiting for us.
