    All are very welcome! :)
  • Hi all and welcome to new people. The more the merrier.
I keep backsliding and I think it's due to the weather:o. Honestly!
It's so cold I keep eating to keep warm. Also, I can't get out much and am bored - hence hours lurking on MSE;)
I really need a kick up the .... My big event is a month away and I NEED to lose weight. Grrrr.
    Must try harder.

Well I've woken up today in a lot of pain. I don't know how but I think I've bruised my coccyx. It hurts like heck to sit down and bend so I wonder if I've done it exercising. I haven't fallen or anything like that. I don't want to stop my exercising either :(

Oh I did that once, just from sleeping funny. Apparently it does happen! Hopefully it'll go away after a day or so, like mine did.

That has got to be it. Can't really be anything else. Never hurt it before so it's not an old injury. Bizarre! Either way certainly hope it's gone by tomorrow. I'm in agony! :o

sunshine butterfly - as well as taking note of your weight, take a few measurements as well.

I'm on week four now and lost 5lbs so far and most of that was in the first week. However I've lost around 1.5 inches off my waist and my clothes are definately beginning to feel a lot looser. Don't get too hung up on weight alone as a measure of how things are going.

don't know if this website has been mentioned 52fastdiet.co.uk it has loads of info on it that's been helpful for me.

Welcome to the club Noctu:) Our band of merry fasters seems to be getting bigger and bigger which is great! Lots more input, ideas and support:D

SunshineButterfly In answer to your earlier post, I personally don't count calories at all on non fast days. I am finding as each week passes, I feel full up so much quicker and therefore am not tempted to binge. I still have treats and eat what I fancy but as I posted earlier, I don't eat fast/ready food and cook most things from scratch, so I am more aware of what I am putting in my mouth.

Mands I have dreadful pains assocated with my joints (Psoriatic Arthritis), but I have noticed particularly over the past few weeks that although the pain is quite annoying and persistant, I have increased mobility. I also think I am noticing the pains more because I have weaned myself completely off painkillers over the past 7 weeks. So all in all quite a good result which will hopefully continue as repair mode keeps kicking in.

crumblepie I am with you about not getting too hung up about weight loss results. A couple of my weeks have been rather disappointing, but I have always had good loss results when measuring inches.

LadyInBlack Keep going! You can do this!:T

elletee Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow!

1940sGal Hope you feel much better soon.

After my fast day yesterday I seem to be having a fruit fest. today, along with my usual breakfast fruit smoothie, I've already had a banana, an apple and a tangerine and I really fancied them. I've also developed a thing about poached eggs and have one every day now except fast days -I suddenly just love them almost like a craving. Definately appreciating food much more now and thinking about what I really want to eat instead of just grabbing anything. Also, I never knew that curried vegetable (no meat) could be so filling and taste so incredibly yummy.

Swimming for me tonight -So good for my joints:)

Good luck today's fasters:T -keep going, it will all be over tomorrow (well for a couple of days anyway)

    Hi all

Well I survived my first ever Spinning class at the weekend - it was v v hard, but I did it. No aches after (well apart from my butt - must invest in a padded seat!) and almost looking forward to my next class on Sunday.

I went out to the pub last night - the first time on a fast day. I'd already had my calories during the day, but treated myself to a couple of diet cokes, and I was fine ... yes I may have stared at people eating garlic bread a bit too much :rotfl:, but I survived :)

Weigh in tomorrow ... fingers crossed for a loss! :)

Well done with the spinning. i tried it a couple of months ago ,but i just couldn't get on with the bike at all. Apart from the saddle being made of razors the pedals were agonising as well. i'm a bit of a titch with really short legs and the instructor spent most of the class trying to adjust my bike for me. She didn'r particularly encourage me to go back , bless her. Maybe one day they'll create a shorties only gym, i'd probably pay more for the privelege.

Well i didn't lose anything last week but I'm not downhearted . My work trousers are so loose that they're in danger of falling down. i should put a pin in them but I like the suspence :D
Wish I thought to mearsure myself before embarking on this.

That's good news :) I'm glad your overall pain levels have dropped and that your mobility is improved; whether it's as a result of 5:2ing or something else that has to be a real relief.

I've got some dodgy joints (as a result of injuries or accidents but which I now know were a result of an underlying condition) so last night's pain wasn't entirely unexpected. Happily regular painkillers and some decent sleep saw it off rather than having to break out the heavy-duty stuff.

Long may this continue for both of us!

    Hello all,

Did anybody else struggle with fasting on exercise days? I do the Insanity with a group of friends every weekday morning at 7.30am which, to be fair, lives up to it's name in that it's VERY intense. Twice i've tried to have a ''fast day'' afterwards and twice i've failed miserably round about lunch time because i've been starving! I think the intense sweat sessions rev up my hunger!

I've eaten TERRIBLY today, far worse than i would normally, lots more carbs than i would normally pick at - could my body still be getting used to the fasting days?! I've only had two!

Going to try again tomorrow. Think i may try eating something small after my workout to see if it staves off my mid-afternoon starvation! Any suggestions for low calorie post workout snacks that i could take with me?

Morning all! Just weighed in and I lost 2.6 this week :T:T Very happy with that - so will stick with my 2000 cals on non fast days for another week and hopefully get another loss!

Good luck to all today's fasters!

ashleymack I've not exercised on fasting days yet ... but will do on Thursday, but it will be at the end of the day, so if I'm starving I'll just go to bed :D I'm not doubting at all that you're starving, but the brain is a strange beast, it knows you'll be more hungry, so therefore you are ... mind over matter you can do it! :)
