I think I'll have to do the same - I was doing really well today (not a fast day, but being cautious because of Mother's Day tomorrow) - then OH wandered in with a big pack of Revels and I just scoffed them! So cross with myself!

If it makes you both feel better, I've had a walnut whip and half a bar of chocolate today (and 2 small pieces of cake, a glass of wine and a 2 bacon sandwiches):D

Don't worry about the odd day of, may be, not eating the best choices, just enjoy them, guilt free. Absolute joy of this eating plan is nothing is banned or labelled 'bad'.
It isn't a 'quick fix; instant drop 3 dress sizes overnight' style diet. Although I know some people are achieving amazing results and we are all delighted to read about it. The trouble with 'quick' weight loss from a very restricted diet is that none of us can keep it off for long as we get fed up with not being able to eat. We all know that 'you can't eat this' makes it the most desirable food EVER!

A couple of years ago in the Telegraph magazine there were some horrendous pictures of Americans who'd lost huge amounts of weight very quickly but had all this revolting skin just hanging. One poor woman wrapped herself in cling film every morning to hold it in place. Can you imagine how horrible that must feel?

I'm 67 and have lost 36lbs now over 15 months, which if you do the maths, is 2.4lbs a month. Not a spectacluar weight loss but I'm 2 sizes smaller, feel good and my skin 'fits'. I'm very happy to continue like this. I have never stuck to a diet for so long. Probably because it really isn't a diet in the conventional sense so I quite happily eat anything when on holiday, with friends or in a restaurant. Heavenly. I have noticed that I can't eat as much food as I used to do. Not sure if that is the diet or my age. Not bother either way.
Will not be fasting next week as we are going on river cruise and I intend to take full advantage of the (hopefully) lovely food. So good luck everyone see you again in about 10 days.

Another effect of this diet I have noticed is that whilst I don't necessarily eat more on non fast days (by more I mean more than normal non fast) I find that I appreciate food more. For instance the day after a fast I really love my morning porridge. Sometimes I can't finish it but I love it all the same.

Please don't feel like that. You are allowed to do that on this diet. If you stick to your fast days you will still lose weight. You can get away with all kinds of sins on this diet. And after all, you have pushed your metabolism up.

My motto is enjoy being bad at times because you know you have a secret weapon. I've just eaten a massive curry with naan bread and a glass of beer and I don't feel guilty at all. Just be very strict with yourself next fast day. Don't worry, it will balance out.

If you think of your diet over a month you have a massive calorie deficit so bingeing a bit on one or two days won't make a lot of difference.

Thanks elizabunny and tesuhoa :) can't help feeling guilty. Been doing Ww for 5 years( still the same weight as when I started) been up and down to goal. The guilt is why I want to do 5:2 as the guilt makes me binge!! But it's a hard habit to stop so thanks for the support- it really helps:) onwards and upwards(hopefully downwards weight wise lol)!
