Been on the 5:2 for three weeks now

Was very pleased today when I popped into work and my colleague mentioned how well and clear my skin looked - I had no make up on :):):)

Must be this way of eating as I have done nothing else different :T

I've had two fast days now - today was a non fast day and I feel as though I have had a lot, but I've eaten without feeling guilty. That makes a change for me which I like.

On the tea subject, I don't count the milk in my tea. I decided it's not worth it! I don;t think it is going to make too much difference.

I should be fasting tomorrow but I don;t have any suitable food in so I think I might do thursday instead. Unless I go to Tesco and get some lovely pineapple and stuff to make soup.

Still not weighed myself so no idea of any loss, but feel bloated and pre-menstrual so there's definitely no visual loss :(

  • I jumped on the scales this morning, lost 3 pounds last week, so happy with that.

I'm on a fast today 2day, found it easier today than the last one, I saved all my calories for dinner so I could have a fajita chicken wrap and tons of salad, but realised I could have had something at lunch as dinner wasn't 500 calories. I've eaten crackerbread tonight 19 calories each but taste like cardboard and a slim a soup.

I'm more than happy with my figure and weight in my pjs, it's when I Put jeans on and I get the muffin top, how on earth do I get rid of those, buying a larger size wouldn't help cause my jeans are no longer tight and I can fasten them without lying down:D

Will fast Thursday again, I certainly feel better for doing the diet, I've more energy and don't feel bloated, I've have not eaten bread for a week and only had one pasta dish, it's definitely the carbs playing havoc with my tummy.

Good luck to the fasters tomorrow, I hope the day whizzes past for you.

Fast day on Monday & yesterday went to the cinema & then to Zizzi's after. Weighed myself this morning STILL the same BUT put my new trousers on yesterday & had to put a belt round them to keep them up!!!!!!. So although the scales may not be showing anything the fat is definitely shrinking round my middle - next FD tomorrow ;)

    Hi all

Weigh in day and stayed the same, happy with the result as along with my 2 perfect 500 cal days last week I had: Big burger and chips, Mexican food, cookies, wine, big sunday lunch, big Brownie Sundae, Cheesecake, chocolate .. wow actually it's a miracle I didn't put on! lol

Got a meal out and a party this week, but will eat less during the other days to get a loss for next week

    Good luck all

I am on the first belt hole not the end one now and the belt is round my waist not under it (and no longer under a substantial paunch).

Had a good FD on Monday with tomato and chick pea soup for lunch and scallops stir fry and brown rice for dinner, I seem to be going fish food on FD s and you get more for your kcal as long as its not salmon.
Tonight will knock up a fresh batch of spicy tomato and lentil soup for my FD lunch tomorrow and prawn chow mein for dinner, and lots of teas during the day.
Hope every isn't finding it to hard going on FD days :T
Following horizon 5-2 started 28/01/13 target where I am now ish :)
Maintaining now as DW doesn't want my legs to get any skinnier :D
    Total Loss=41.6lb
  • When you are doing your fast days, are you fasting 24 hours (ie. dinner at 7pm from Thursday and not eating your next meal until dinner at 7pm on Friday)?

Or are you fasting for 36 hours (last meal 7pm Thursday, and first meal 7am Saturday)?

I'm doing the former and haven't lost any weight (aside from the day after as fast day, but when I begin eating normally, I go back to the same pre-fast weight). I'm just wondering if this is where I'm going wrong.

    Hi all,
Back from my holiday and still manged to lose a pound. (OK it was a ski holiday - so maybe not that surprising).

I didn't worry about fasting or sticking to the 8 hour window . A hotel breakfast was included and I really struggled with that. Normally I would of had the works , but this year it was just fruit and a croissant).

I wasn't at work on Monday but thought I'd try my usual fast day (first one for about a month). It was a lot harder than being in the office but I managed. Even went to Tescos to get some bits.

I did splash out and have some mussels in vinegar instead of the usual cuppa soup for lunch , and dinner was steamed salmon, with some low fat creme fraiche, steamed veg and wholemeal pasta. I too turn to fish on a fast day

It was quiz night last night so I had 3 pints oflager and a hotdog with fries, without a care in the world. Woke up very hungry this morning. Probably dehyrdation.

Anyway I've managed to stave it off with coffee and water. Will have my cuppa soup at about 2pm then the same as Monday for dinner.

Well done to those still losing, and to those having difficulties just keep tinkering until you find what suits.
