Without going into too much detail, eating less has made me visit the toilet more. My digestive system has always been 'sluggish' - I've never been a daily person - but I am now! (If you know what I mean.) It doesn't really make sense, eating less and going more - and I'm sure LCing has also helped - but it's a positive thing, and every little helps, as they say!!0 -
I've just been looking on this site. Some gorgeous looking meals on there. Some quite low in calorie count too for fasting days and generally some great ideas for other days too. Definitely want to try the Chorizo and Bean Salad for a fasting day!0

After missing 2 slimming world classes, I started this programme about 3 weeks ago on the Monday. That Thursday when I weighed in I had lost 6.5 pounds. Now whether that was a collective from the 3 weeks or becasue of water loss I'm not sure but the next week I had maintained the weight loss which means at least it stayed off. I didn't manage to weigh in last week as I was too busy. Then this weekend I got sick. On Saturday I only really ate lunch (a big bowl of Special K followed by breadsticks and houmous!)....for the rest of the day all I ate was Skittles and a long liquorice cable!!!!! But I couldn't count it as a fast day after that really ha ha. So I fasted yesterday which was good becasue I was more ill yesterday and didn't really want to eat anyway. So I had veg soup for lunch at 162 calories and scrambled eggs with ham and cheese in the evening for 280 calories plus lots of peppermint tea. Anyway when I weighed myself on my dodgy scales last night (I never trust these completely cos they are so fickle hence the reason I weigh in at the slimming club (plus I had bought a 12 week commitment), I was half a stone down on my last weigh in and this morning it was more like 10 pounds! Be interesting to see what the true scales say on Thursday!!! I'll let you know. If i have lost, it will appear that my weight only comes off every few weeks or so which is fine. In fact that is more motivating!
P.S: Was absolutely ravenous for breakfast this morning...actually was ravenous half the night and as I had slept so much already over the weekend I couldn't sleep...I was dreaming what to have for breakfast. As it is I've had Special K (80g) and skimmed milk for 380 calories, plus I'm drinking lots of water. I feel stuffed!!!
So weigh in day was today and in 2 weeks I have lost...... 11 POUNDS!!!! So in total now I've lost 17.5 pounds in the last 4-6 weeks (4 weeks since I started 5:2 but 6 weeks since I'd last weighed). I was stunned today but obviously elated!!! And it appears my scales are ok. I have loads to lose so this will slow down and take time but my aim is to weigh at 40 (4 years away) what I weighed when I was my lowest at about the age of 23). And I can actually see myself managing that on this plan!Make £2012 in 2012 member #88

Hi everyone - coming to the end of my 4th fast day on the 5:2 plan. This is the first time we've managed to do 2 fast days in the week and it was really hard this morning - didn't want to do it at all.
However, it's been okay. Celery has proved to be a great snack as has hardly any calories but it still feels like you are eating!
It's hard to fit this with family meals though - we need some recipes that can be adapted for kids eating normally and adults fasting. How do other people with kids manage?"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."0 -

I know what you mean; sometimes when I get up and have my morning tea, I feel a pinch of heart at the idea of not eating until dinner that day. But once I get on with my day, I find it surpringly easy. Maybe it's mostly the thought of plenty that I miss.
I have to admit that work has made it easy to opt out from family meals on fast days, as I tend to work late on these days (I have a very high work load at the moment, so it helps) and the family eats without me.
On the days I have eaten with them, we may all share a vegetable soup ( they can add cream in theirs and I don't) and they have something else whilst ihave another bowl of soup, or we have stir-fry with loads of vegetables and I keep well away from the rice, or we have a lrage salad and again, they have bread and cheese with it whislt I stick to the lettuce (with a separate dressing). I suspect this will become the norm in the summer.I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -

On my fast days I don't have anything apart from peppermint tea till lunch. At lunch I normally have about 200 calories (Boots currently do an amazing sushi salad with either prawns and smoked salmon or teriyaki tuna for 202/201 calories). I then get myself the largest bottle of mineral water they do and also one of the biggest bags of chocolate they do to have when not on a fast day ha ha!!!! That leaves me 300 calories for dinner. I try to make sure that it is a day when we are having something that is sort of meat, potato and lots of veg based and I then have a small piece of the meat and a huge plate of veg without potatoes and my children don't blink an eye.....mind you they are 4 and a quarter and nine months ha ha!!!!Make £2012 in 2012 member #88

Another Friday another fast day and Happy March everyone! Let's do this.:hello:0

I was a bit disappointed that I didn't loose anything last week so fingers crossed for Monday .
Jomo I seemed to 'stall' a bit too - but fast day yesterday & lost another 1lb - I've only a few more pounds to go so like Nuninge says I think it probably slows down a bit when you get near your 'natural' weight. Years ago when I did WW I did find that my weight loss seemed to be fortnightly rather than weekly.
Next FD on Monday - so have a goood weekend everyone :beer:Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Got through the fast yesterday and can now eat again today. Hurrah!
I am really enjoying that feeling of lightness/clarity that you get the morning after a fast day. Does anyone know what I mean or is it just me?"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Had a successfully 2nd fast day (after 2 day migraine after caffeine withdrawal).
Made sure I had plenty of diet Coke/tea for caffeine.
Slept pretty well as well.
Weight down a little and fat % down, but need to compare after a full week.
Looking good so far and seems relatively easy to stick to.0
