    Flip I have loss so little this week it is hardly worth a mention:mad:
    annoyed because I have done so much more exercise.

    Half a stone in four weeks is pretty good going I'd have said :)

    For what it's worth I find that not all weeks in the month behave the same. Some weeks seem to hold weight, frustratingly, only to be followed by slightly bigger losses.

    Morning all

    Weigh in for me this morning and another 1lb off, that's 4 In 4 weeks, really pleased as I've not restricted myself at all on non fast days, or upped my exercise, so although the fast days are tough, the other 5 days more than make up for it:)

    Next fast day will be Tuesday, I find this one easier as I'm at work and usually too busy to let the hunger pangs bother me!

    Good luck to everyone else this week.

    Hi everyone. My OH has been following the 5:2 plan and has lost about a stone since January! I was toying with the idea of doing the "diet" myself and then a couple of weeks ago I was really ill and just couldn't face the prospect of eating for almost an entire week. I lost 7lbs during this time and didn't feel hungry. Since then my appetite has returned somewhat but not to the same extent that it was before. So I'm going to give it a bash and see what happens! My first fast day is going to be Tuesday and I'm tracking my calories on MFP (which I've been doing for a while!)
    Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £
    LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000

    Thankyou kind posters - I certainly don't want my metabolism to slow down or to feel like I'm too restricted so I'm thinking of increasing my cals to 1600 on a NFD which is the recommende amount to maintain my weight. Do you think this is too much though? Bit lost as to what to aim for...I'm 46, sedentary, 5ft 2 and 10st 2 btw. Any ideas most gratefully received!

    If 1600 is your recommended maintainance then it is not too much. By fasting 2 days and sticking to 1600 ( which seems a bit low to me?)
    then you will create a deficit and will lose weight. I found the first week I was too hung up on calories and feel much more relaxed this week where I am just eating normally, but mindfully, on NFDs without calorie counting. On FD I stick to 500 cals.
    I am 51, 5ft 3 and mildly active ( something that I feel now I want to increase), I weigh 9st 10 ( starting weight 10st). My target is 8st 12 and I can't wait to get there. I wil look out for your posts as we seem to be similar in height and weight etc and hopefully can encourage eachother towards our goals. Good luck everybody for the coming week x
  • Back on the wagon this week. I feel totally ashamed of myself for not sticking to what is the EASIEST diet I've ever done in my life! Am going to do 4:3- Monday, Wednesday and Friday- for the next 2 weeks to try and make up for not fasting at all this last week. Have eaten all of the bad things to make myself 'feel better' which has resulted in me feeling terrible (predictably).

    Anyway, onwards and hopefully downwards (on the scale!) :)

    Please don't beat yourself up. Tommorow is a new day so start afresh on the 5:2. Obvoiusly if you want to do 4:3 that is your personal choice but I do feel that you would be punishing yourself unnecessarily. The fact that you want to carry on and try again shows that you will be a winner! Good luck and have a great week,

    Yes, we have similar stats don't we. Be dead interested to hear how you get on.

    Re daily calorie intake different sites give me different TDEE figures. One of them says only 1486. I'm going to stick around 1600 for this week though just to make sure I'm not tempted to binge,. Hopefully I can relax and stop counting calories then. The problem is that I have been dieting on and off for around two years so I'm not sure what eating normally actually means. I haven't got that far to go as I just want to get down to 9st 4 or thereabouts. Anything less is just not sustainable for me.

    My second fast day was today and I only got mildly hungry so tis all good.

    Hi Teandcakeordeath (love that username lol!) As the previous posters have commented, don't beat yourself up. Sometimes life gets in the way. It's a new week so a fresh start. You can do this. As you say yourself it's easy - especially if you only stick to two days fasting. Good luck!
