Hmm. I've stayed the same weight for two weeks, despite doing everything right. I want to lose not maintain!
Am trying doing the two fast days together this week (today and tomorrow), just to see if it makes any difference.
If you look at it another way, I still have lost 4 pounds in about 4 weeks. But they were all at the beginning! Not ideal...:rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf:0 -
I have decided to do my second fast day today, as I found it so easy yesterday, but I will say today is not so easy, I feel a little dizzy at times, just had two plain crackerbread and a few cherry tomatoes, I want to save my calories for this evening, chicken breast with tons and tons of vegetables, is it 6pm yet:rotfl: (I'm starving!)
I get offered a free lunch everyday and used to take it, I had to walk past the carbonara and fudge cake today:mad:
On a good note, I weigh myself this morning, I have lost 2 pounds, I know its only water but 2 pounds is 2 pounds, I can gain that normally by just looking at a cake!
I have 7 pounds to lose in total, gosh its not as easy or indulgent losing it as gaining it and having the pleasure of stuffing my face with pasta and wine.

Please don't give up just because you feel weight not coming off fast enough; you will get there. Everyone on this board is so helpful and supportive, you are not alone.
I started in Jan 12 and have lost 32lbs. If you do the maths you will know that that is about .5lb/p/wk. Not very impressive but over the year it means I have dropped 2 dress/trousers sizes and don't have lose hanging skin anywhere (you'll have to take my word for that!). In that time I have been on holiday several times, been out for meals and visited family and friends. On those occasions I have eaten whatever I wanted so haven't felt deprived in any way. I don't know if there have been any of the health benefits mentioned in the Horizon programme as I don't have high blood pressure or any of the problems associated with old age, but my GP is delighted with my weight loss. I would like to be about a stone lighter by this time next year but am not too bothered as I have just had the delight of buying 2 pairs of trousers 2 sizes smaller and would lkie to get plenty of wear out of them before they become too big!!!
Good luck everyone. Here's to a slimmer and healthier 2013.0 -
A great visual of what you get for a 200 calories buck!!

On a foody note- can't you take the free fudge cake, wrap it up and take it home for a non-fasting day ? LOL!0 -
Go carefully, as I think it's not recommended to fast on 2 consecutive days - may be that is why you felt a little dizzy?

I certainly won't be fasting for 2 consecutive days next week, I have felt lousy this evening, I have had 600 calories 2day, couldn't resist more vegetables at dinner:D
The good things I have noticed, is I certainly don't feel bloated again today, no bread nor pasta seems to be helping my tummy, will see if i can give them both up for good - I think my body is in shock, I rarely eat much vegetables normally (pasta is a real weakness for me, huge bowlfuls with a meaty or creamy sauce and a glass or two of a 14% full bodied red) I have eaten tons of veg in the past two days.
As for the cake, it will be still be there tomorrow, assuming the students don't buy it, we can have what ever is left so I'm going to tuck in tomorrow, I do hope its a nice day so the students decide to leave site rather than use on site facilities:rotfl:
Thank you to all the posters on here, I really feel as though its a online help desk, especially when I want to munch a packet of biscuits and log on here instead and read your success news, must remember to take it slowly though, I am a little impatient and want quick results, or more like I want to get back into jeans without having to lie down and fasten them!

Morning all
Well I'm feeling a lot happier today ... lost 1.6lbs this week, which is the exact amount I'm aiming for to reach my goal by the end of the year. I can't believe after being overweight for 30 odd years I am actually in the same year I can reach my goal sensibly! (My total weight loss is now 4st 10lb (mostly on WW)! can't believe I was that big :embarasse )
Just had my breakfast of Peanut Butter on toast ... all is well with the world!
Good luck for today's fasters ... I shall join you again tomorrow

You should not do the fast days together. Are you eating enough on your non fast days. It may be that your body has gone into starvation mode and that is why you are not losing weight. It is necessary to eat normally on non fast days to ensure that your metabolism keeps going. When I started off I didn't lose much weight for weeks but I kept it up in faith and then my weight started going down slowly and steadily. It stands to reason that you will lose weight on this diet unless you binge because you have an overall calorie deficit over shall we say, a month.
Well I did my fast day yesterday and my husband asked me if I was becoming anorexic! I looked at myself in the mirror this morning and for the first time in years my stomach doesn't stick out and I cannot pinch more than an inch of fat. My size 12 trousers are getting loose. I still want to lose a few more ounces but am very pleased with this diet. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
Well i got through my first fast day yesterday, only just mind you, i started to think about snacking around 8 last night so i had a satsuma and a big glass of water and then i had an early night.
Back to normal today and the funny thing is i'm definitely hungrier today than i was yesterday, whether its all in my mind or whether is is because i snacked on tea break at work and the sugary biscuits are sending messages to me to eat more loli don't know but either way i'm resisting, i've had lunch and i won't eat again until evening meal.
Day 2 tomorrow and i'm quite looking forward to it.
Have a good day everyone who is fasting today, :T0
