It's my regular fast day, but I'm working from home today (which happens maybe once every 2 years).

I've got the same problem. Tuesday and Thursday are my usual regular fast days but I've had to rearrange things because of Shrove Tuesday and Valentine's Day.

Good afternoon everyone including all of today's fasters! There seem to be loads of us today including me. Welcome to any newbies!

Have kept so busy this morning so not really feeling too bad at all. Had to clean the bathroom, hoover the bedrooms, walk the dog a mile or two and potter in the greenhouse for an hour. Consequently the time has flown by and I don't really feel hungry at all.

I did get quite cold though so came in an made myself a mug of steaming mar*gold Bouillion -very satisfyling for only 10 calories per mug:D I have also had my usual breakfast fruit smoothie so that's 256 calories so far.

I got to thinking that although this diet sems relatively easy when you think about it, if your on the 5:2 like me you are possibly only eating 1000 calories over a period of 3 days during the week. So a 3:4 diet in one way but possibly not technically because there are not 3 seperate fast days.

Basically I fast from approxiamtely 7pm on a Sunday night and consume approx 250 calories at 7am on a Monday, then fast again until aproximately 6pm on the Monday when I have another 250 calories. I then fast until 7am on a Tuesday morning when I resume normal eating. So that is a restricted calorie period of 36 hours. Doing this twice a week gives me a total of 72 hours (3 days) with only 1000 calories consumed. This may explain why this diet seems to work so well.

Sorry for the rambling, but I have so far been very impressed with the 5:2 and actually was really ready to fast today. It wasn't that I had particulary over consumed over the last 3 days, more that the normal foods that I used to like eating seemed rather 'heavy'

I think I am going to make a fish stew for dinner tonight. I have located a couple of nice recipes, but not sure which one to use yet. I have loads of tomatoes that I want to use up, so hope I can fit them in somewhere as they are low cal.

Well that's about it for now, keep going everyone:T:T Thanks for all your suport too -it really helps to read other peoples experiences:T:T

My FD today too - I havn't had anything to eat since about 7pm last night - I'll either have a banana or a mug of instant soup a bit later when I feel I need it then I'm having 2 scrambled eggs on toast for tea - might do a rasher of bacon instead of the toast.
I weighed myself this morning ( I seem to be getting paranoid ;)) & I'm 154.4lb so I'm off to change my sig lol
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

    I've been Money Tipped!
Oh dear... I'm finding it hard today; maybe it's the snow!

As I have only tea with me, I went out at lunch time for a walk, part distraction part hoping to find something to nibble.
I wasn't inspired by what was on offer but bought some mushroom flavour stock and used a third of one to make a "soup" and I can say it's a very nice alternative to food!.

    Hello,
First fast day in 2 weeks and so far so good.

So far today i have had 2 mugs of tea and four mugs of coffee.
I'm planning on having a cup a soup at around two (oh the excitement :D).

Tonight will be home made fish curry, with boiled potatoes on the side.

The reason I had two weeks off was due to dental surgery so there was never any chance of putting weight on.

I'm off skiing this friday, so yesterday was the dreaded trying on of the salopettes. Theres nothing like trying on clothes you only wear once a year to remind you how tubby you're getting.
Happy to say they slipped on no bother, with plenty of room for thermals underneath.

I've also dropped a jean size, but will be taking the old ones, as again there'll be plenty of room for thermals. Hopefully they can go in the charity bin when spring gets here.

Oh and I too was annoyed with the daily mail ad, mainly because at the end it said something like "Never feel hungry" . Once again perpetuationing the myth that feeling hungry is a bad thing`

It's my regular fast day, but I'm working from home today (which happens maybe once every 2 years). I'm used to fasting at work, where there is no food available even if I wanted it - here, at home, the situation is different and I'm a bit scared! I've got my lunch/tea ready in the fridge, leftovers from yesterday, and I've had my morning coffee and am drinking water. I know that I can resist hunger but it's the mindless snacking I'm afraid of...

Good luck to all the Monday fasters!

Good luck with that, and lets us know how you get on.

I need the structure of working day in the office to keep me on the straight and narrow.

I'm also fasting today and feeling very hungry! I last ate at abot 7pm last night and I'll have a 'full' dinner tonight (stir fry with chicken the dessert is yogurt and blueberries). Then nothing till Tuesday morning. I haven't felt too hungry on past fast days bug it's bugging me today. Never mind, I'll keep busy to distract myself!
    Trying to keep in budget.

  • My day is going ok so far but I feel I'm "on the edge" i.e. could go mad and open a packet of biscuits at any minute. I'm so glad I popped in here to get support and inspiration. I feel better and am going to get off the computer and do some exercise! Now!!
Good luck to the Monday gang. Keep strong.

Nooooooooooooo don't do it LadyinBlack!:D If you are anything like me you will be so cross afterwards. I've just had to make some more hot tea because I'm trying to sort out dinner and it's making me feel hungry.

Come on people :T We CAN do this:D

started 3 days ago with a fast day and sensible med type diet oher days. I hope ti works. Put on about 4 lbs at xmas, then 4 lbs while on holiday. I feel very positive, my main concern is to try to reduce my borderline high blood pressure so I will not need medication. Does anyone know the models of the scales that measure body fat etc. I suspect I'm one of these people that collect fat round my organs. Good luck to all.
