  • Helen, you are meant to be working xx Forgot you were on this forum.
    Counting the beans : £1
Knowing which beans to count : £99
  • I treated myself to some scales yesterday and as you can see by my sig I've got a long way to go! This is my third fast day but first with the scales so I'm starting from today. I had my meal last night at 19:00 and had 600 calories at 18:30 tonight so nearly made 24 hours, I won't be eating until 09:00 in the morning so 38 hours on restricted calories. I've only had three cups of coffee all day so I really need to start drinking water and plenty of it.

    Well done everyone:T:T:T

I've just made a lovely batch of nutty flapjack too. This is of course not for today, but will be enjoyed by DH and myself tomorrow and Wednesday.

I cannot believe how comfortable I am becoming around food and that I can actually prepare something yummy without diving straight in. The flapjack looks and smells gorgeous -but I can wait until tomorrow.

Just water and maybe a couple of herbal cuppas for me until 7am tomorrow.

Haha - just cooked DH Sausages, Mushrooms, 2 Bubble & Squeak cakes, Eggs & beans - & had a virtuous scrambled eggs on toast AND I didn't feel the least inclined to nibble either (pancakes tomorrow :T)
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

I always save all my 500 cals for dinner, which today I decided would be beans on toast. It was lovely, but I think other meals I've made have been a hell of a lot more filling.
    Oh well, live and learn.

P.S. How on EARTH do the fancier scales measure anything aside from weight? How can it possibly know the amount of different types of fat in your body?

I think they use a mild electric current. They are woefully inaccurate.
  • Taking a break for the evening, made dinner then dog training. Back to it in the morning.

I think absolute accuracy is difficult to achieve anyway when using any type of scales. No doubt on using several different brand names, there would be a discrepancy in the figures. However they do give an indication that the make up of your body mass is heading in the right direction (and hopefully it is;))

I wasn't doubting the accuracy of scales measuring weight. Measuring body fat on such scales is hokum.

I would be interested to know your reasoning behind this, given that so many are sold for that very purpose. Are there actual facts regarding this?
