Yey! Weightloss
Well done!
It's fast day 2 tomorrow. My plan is one slice of toast unbuttered and two poached eggs then a ready meal of 250cals late afternoon. enough cals left for a yoghurt about 7pm
Fingers crossed.
Not getting on the scales till Saturday.
Has anyone noticed that their facial skin improves at all. Mine looks and feels blergh. Kind of like I feel actually. Hoping for a spring in my stepin the next few weeks.0 -

Fast day no 4 tomorrow -I seem to find Thursday's easier than Mondays -well I did last week anyway. I still seem to get a slight headache on fast days, nothing serious just a bit annoying. I think I still need to drink more water and hopefully this will solve the problem.
mumlady do you have the 5.2 diet book, there are some interesting pages in there about low GI foods.
azureblue Never mind, you're allowed a treat now and again. Is it your fast day tomorrow?0 -
I'm fasting on Friday Elizabunny, and the cold weather this week doesn't help my resolve to keep to 1500 cals on feed days. Standing on the scales briefly this morning was a tad depressing. However. Perseverance and determination encouraged by all you lovely people will keep me going. Many thanks :-):hello:0

Fasting day tomorrow and I'm quite looking forward to it in a strange way! I've eaten normally since the last fast and feel fine, not sure if I've lost weight at all, but just keeping going.Trying to keep in budget.

I get that seem feeling. It is not really a chore and it is kind of nice being able to feel like you are doing something healthy and get to give it up before it becomes unbearable.0 -
Fast day no 3 for me tomorrow ... seems to have come round all too fast, but probably because I moved my 2nd fast from Monday to Tuesday!0

Good morning fasters:D
Well done to all those who completed their's yesterday and good luck to all those fasting today like me and those fasting tomorrow!
I notice many posters saying how much they actually look forward to their fasting day and I have to agree with this. I don't think it's just about the challenge of the restricted calories either. For me it's more like a sort of relief. A feeling that this just might make me lose some weight but more that it might actually be beneficial to me for lots of other health reasons.
I also notice that some posters say that they are not starving for their breakfast on the day after the fast and I have to agree with this as well. If anything I am much less hungry the morning after the fast than I am the evening before.
I was trying to decide if I was already feeling some of the benefits and I believe I am. I am sleeping better, previously I was waking 5/6 times per night, last night it was only once and this has happened a couple of times. I have arthritis and have been plagued with extremely painful joints since just before Christmas, but this week I am almost moving normally again and have even managed to go swimming. When I started this diet 2 weeks ago that was something I couldn't have done.
Possibly it is simply too early to say whether these benefits are a result of the 5.2 diet but I believe it has been written that results mights be noticed as early as week or so in. Whatever the reason though, this has given me encouragement to carry on and see what happens:)

I agree Elizabunny. One thing that's nice is that you don't needto worry about what you eat the rest of the time. I've lost weight by watching calories before and it does be one a bit tedious having to record everuthing you eat.
If this work and I do lose some weight (I needto trim off about 4 kgs) then it would be almost perfect, especially as it's apparently got massive health benefits too.Trying to keep in budget.

Totally agree ... I'm on a down day today and always feel really up and happy on these days ... think it's something to do with feeling in control and feeling strong (yes I will be hungry later but so what). Plus I'm saving money
Good luck to all fasting today! I've had my breakfast, have a nice chicken salad pitta for lunch, then fast for around 20 hours0 -
Joining you today ElizabunnyI've got a busy day & a Yoga session tonight & I usually pre-prepare DH's meal so its a good day for me. Funny you should mention the sleeping 'cos lately I've found I have far more nights when I sleep through ( I sound like a baby!!!) the knock on effect is good 'cos with unbroken sleep you are more rested & able to face the day's challengesSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0
