Sadly my office is usually full of cookies, donoughts , etc, so temptation everywhere!
I find temptation very easy to avoid on fast days in the office because my mind is very much focused on the fast. Mind you, I don't like doughnuts and avoid cookies in general. It's chocolate I would be tempted by.
At home it's more difficult because I could easily give in something reasonably healthy and then forget about the fast.
But trust yourself a little; give it a few attempts. It did surprise me how managing hunger, on fast or feasts days has changed.
Today wasn't a fast day but I had no time to eat lunch at work and decided I would wait until I came home for school pickup. My stomach was rumbling in the car, but after a cup of my fast days soup (quickest option available in the fridge) I found that I was OK. And I will hold until dinner. I actually almost like feeling a little hungry... maybe I've gone weird!!!!

Hunger at night was an issue in my first few days. I guess it didn't help that I felt quite cold as well. But it's not a problem now and I'm not even ravenous when I wake up the next day.

  • Third fast day down for me today. Thought it would be tough in work but it was surprisingly easy despite the fact our office has LOADS of goodies in it and everyone seems to love sabotaging a diet ('why you doing that?', 'that doesn't sound healthy', 'have one of these it's only little' etc. etc.)

Didn't eat all day, just drank my usual black tea and water and for tea had a massive chicken stirfry with beansprouts instead of noodles/ rice. Got a low cal chocolate mousse for pudding in a bit with some scary tv.

Good luck to all who fast tomorrow and well done to those who've done today! :)

Have managed to avoid the temptation of the freshly baked bread. Looking forward to guilt free cake or biccie with my morning cuppa tomorrow during our weekly team meeting at work tomorrow.

Off to bed now, just hoping I can manage decent night's sleep

Well it was my second fast day yesterday ... had planned it to be Monday but I had a really bad headache, so decided to eat normally on Monday and move it to yesterday.

Agree with ^^ that it is great that you can just change the day. I found it straightforward again, and had a great night's sleep. I find I sleep better on fast days, but I think that it is due to not having any alcohol.

    Hi all

Lost 2.5 this week, which I'm very happy about as my goal is a realistic 1.5, so anything more is a bonus :) At the 1.5 rate I'll be in the normal (let alone over weight) BMI by Christmas :)

On a eating day today but not going too mad - My MFP goal per day is 1330 and by the end of the day I'll have had 1817 - but I've been to the gym today and earned 327 calories - so only 160 over my limit.

Planning my fast day tomorrow - found a soup I love in my cupboard (Baxter's Stay Full Tomato, Chorizo and Bean) and was very pleasantly surprised to find it is only 232 cals for the whole can - that's tomorrow's lunch sorted :)

Hope everyone else is doing good :)
  • I actually completed a fast day yesterday:j

I'm finding it hard this time. I did it last summer and found it relatively easy. I think it's harder in winter.

Anyway, I'm not weighing myself as I get depressed and binge if I don't lose so it's best not to know.

I'm trying to be good today but still finding it difficult. All the inspiring stories on this thread do help. So I'll keep hanging in there:D

    Congrats! Enjoy the shopping! :)
  • Meant to say I completely agree about the flexibility thing. I tried and failed to fast on Monday but did manage yesterday.

Think Saturday will be my next fast day.
