  • Days Out seem to have updated their website with ticket validity info here (can't post link but as follows:

If you are having trouble figuring out whether your ticket type will be accepted, please check them against the images and lists below:

    YES!

The following ticket types are fine to use for 2FOR1 offers:

National Rail tickets - purchased from a rail station, including:
    Advance
    Anytime
    Off-Peak
    Gatwick/Stansted Express
Travelcards - only when purchased from a train station.
Print @ Home - showing the National Rail logo only
Season tickets with Photocards - including those with TfL Travelcard add-ons
    Annual Gold Cards
Annual Oyster card WITH Gold Record card

they now say that an annual oyster + gold record card is valid; I have a Z1-2 annual + card etc for my work commute, according to website this should be valid; has anyone had any experience of this?!

    Hello!

I've been trawling around the internet trying to find some more info on this... but can successfully confirmed that an annual oyster and gold record card is valid. I used it for the Ansel Adams 2-4-1 at the Maritime Museum in Greenwich at the weekend.

Am delighted with this new rule as I have a Z1-2 as well and feel like I can get something back for it now. Happy days out!
  • Silly question but presumably i can do as many of the 2for1 attractions as i print vouchers and can fit in to a day trip. e.g. both the aquarium and dungeons etc....

yes you can, I've just printed a load off and will decide on the day which ones to use. To save time, add them all to your basket before going to "print vouchers" instead of doing them one at a time. You just present the voucher at the venue and show your rail tickets to get the discount

Such a useful thread. Sorry if the answer to my question has been posted in the past.

Want to visit London Transport Museum with DS. He's too young for me to justify spending £30 for tickets for DH and I. Noticed that 2for1 offer with National Rail applies to London Transport Museum.

What's the cheapest rail journey I can purchase that they will accept? Think the nearest rail station is Charing Cross.

    Thanks so much.

An Anytime Single from Imperial Wharf to West Brompton will cost you £2.00 each.
Doesn't have to be to Charing Cross... any London station will do.

Apologise my laziness to read through the entire thread. I remember a few years ago that only one (1) National Rail ticket can get this 2for1 offer, but I looked at it recently that now requires two (2) National Rail tickets to qualify. I hope someone following this can correct me if I am wrong, perhaps I remember it incorrectly. Many thanks.

No idea whether it has changed recently or not, but just looking at the FAQs on the Daysoutguide website one will find:
How many train tickets are required per voucher?
Whilst you will only have one London Attractions voucher between 2 people, both people need to hold valid train tickets for the day of their visit.
  • Thanks wealdroam, I guess my question is was it used to only required one (1) National Rail ticket for a 2for1?

    'A few years ago'?

    When are you talking about?

Certainly as far back as 21 March 2011 that FAQ question and answer were exactly the same:
You do only need one voucher per two people... is that what you were thinking of?
