Only vaguely related to ebay but I don't think mse has a place for posting?
Anyway, how much is it to send something recorded, with just a 'written on' freepost address, rather than a printed envelope?
Thanks

Why do you need Recorded ? Would not a (free) certificate of posting suffice ?0

It will just be the cost of the recorded delivery service (95p I think).0

Ive sent a freepost item recorded before. Was just charged the recorded delivery and not the price of a stamp.0

should be the cost of the RD only
Freepost covers the basic costs0 -
Do you have any sources to back that up? The PO were quite adamant about the charge being higher.0

none except I used to deal with freeposts every day, at the point of charging.
RD items are still charged for the freepost component0 -

not if it has a stamp on, which is what the PO want to charge, I'm sure if you were processing freepost letters and seen a stamp on one you didn't count that one.
Just checked on RM site and it says cost is 95p plus 1st or 2nd class postage so it looks as if the PO are correct. It also says 95p plus normal postage, I doubt freepost can be classed as either one of those.0 -

Is there any point in asking if you wont listen to the answer?
If you add a stamp, thn the Freepost becomes null.
given you have applied postage then its a moot point(unless you under pay)
If you pay for RD alone, then the RD component is paid for and at the delivery office, the Freepost is charged as normal.0
