  • When i compliment companies, i always write letters. I used to send E-mails but they usually send a "thanks, we'll pass on your compliments", so i write a hand written letter, and when they send a reply they 95% of the time pop in some vouchers.
Worth taking the time to write a letter out.
Started entering comps from MSE in March.

Try writing to bigger companies. Check eBay to see if they manufacture coupons. If you would like to get a list of companies i have had success with, please PM me as i do not like to post to everyone on the board (that would be unfair to the comanies!!!):rotfl:

  • A good idea. Even if you don't hear anything back I'm sure the letters will be appreciated much more than complaints which they are prob used to getting.
  • I wrote to Pizza Express to compliment them and got an email back thanking me.

I complained to Pizza Hut and got vouchers 2 days later.

I wish I'd complained to Pizza Express now :p

I own a small electrical business and we seem to get nothing but moans from customers all day long about things beyond our control, even though we go far, far out of our way to try and help people. And if people aren't moaning because the product they've always used for fifty years has been discontinued then they're moaning about the weather, or their neighbour's dog, or their grandson's haircut!

It always makes such an incredible difference to staff morale when a customer actually takes a moment to make a genuine nice comment. We're so unprepared for customers who don't just expect everthing for nothing that a compliment can be remembered for years! And, even though we're a small company and can't afford to give much away, you can bet that the next time a nice customer needs something that we'll be far more likely to bump them up the priority list than someone who complains about every tiny thing all the time.

So I say this is definitely a worthwhile campaign- as long as you have a genuine reason to single out good service. After all, wouldn't you be peeved if you made up a compliment and found out that some miserable so-and-so had taken all the credit? :D
