I wrote to Morrisons a few months ago (paid for a stamp as couldn't find a suitable email address for them) to praise their Sunflower and Pumpkin Seed sliced bread. I got a bland acknowledgement but no vouchers. What irritated me was that the second paragraph of the letter was so obviously pasted in from their standard response to a complaint, along the lines of 'We strive to offer good products and respond to complaints promptly...'
I still recommend the bread though.

I had to complain about the new starbucks not closing their "to go" cups properly which resulted in me getting burned, I got a letter back apologising and some vouchers for twenty quid. I then wrote more recently to comment on how much the service has improved and to say that me and my friends think the new changes to the way the bar is set up make it much nicer to go there for coffee and we got a letter saying thank you for your feedback here's a starbucks card with twenty quid on it!

All in all not bad for a days work.

I'm a bit lost on this site as it is very busy. I wanted to know how, when people reply, they have what their debts are underneath and how much they aim to pay off and if they are on target etc and then totals may be crossed out with a new total....how do they do that????

hello munckinpie, im quite new too so still trying to get my head round stuff, but the bit you are talking about is your signature. if you go to your profile, you will see a bit on the side that says edit signature, where you can write your own details if you wish. they will then show at the bottom of every comment you write on anywhere on the forum board. ;)

I recently wrote to McCain's praising them on their Potato Gratin and got a £2 voucher and a lovely thank you letter...
  • I did the same with Jack Daniels and joined tehir membership program and got some cuff links!!
  • I love this thread. I came across it a while ago after being refused for the royal mail postal thing (although they sent me a load of free stamps).

So, I have all these free stamps and no idea what to do with them. I ramdomly picked out some stuff from my cupboards and wrote nice letters.

So far I've had £3 from proctor and gamble, £3 from Nestle and £2 from weetabix.

I emailed a well known razor manufacturer yesterday stating that I currently use a hand held razor by their competitor and would be interested to hear if they had a comparable razor in their range. I had an email back today telling me about a new razor they had just launched and informed me that they would be sending me vouchers through in order to buy this new product. I have not been too pleased with current razor and therefore will gladly try this new razor at no cost to myself. An unexpected result:rotfl:

Not so much by giving a thank you but by a polite enquiry. I sent an email to a well known razor company yesterday stating that I used a hand held razor offered by a competitor and enquired if they had anything similar in their range. I had a very nice reply back today telling me about a new razor they have just launched and stating that they are sending me a voucher to buy the new product. I wanted to change my existing brand anyway so this kind offer is very welcome!!:rotfl:
