If I ever complain about something once it is put right I make a point of returning to the person I complained to, be it in person, on the phone or letter.
The response very often is that of disbelief of someone thanking them - I think so few people do it they can't believe it.

Over the past few years I have been putting my car in for service, MOT etc at a local garage who are Nissan dealers. They offer a lift home or courtesy car whilst my car is being done, but having 2 cars I refuse the courtesy car. Then they will either deliver the car to the house or pick me up and take me back to the garage, whichever is more convenient. They never fail to keep me appraised of any situation or any delay which might occur. The staff have always been most courteous, helpful and friendly.

I take great delight in writing to the boss of this firm every time to remind him of how good his team are and what a good job he is doing overall. His response is always delightful and appreciative. There are no freebies involved, its just something I feel the need to do for such excellent service.

I quite often write thanking others for similar good service, with no thought of freebies. Its the polite thing to do!

I recently rang and complained about my internet service when I changed. it took several phone calls but because I remained calm and not abusive, the person got their supervisor to sort out the problem, and because of all the problems I'd had arranged for me to get a free wireless router. So when i got a customer satisfaction email to fill out I made sure I mentioned the two helpful people and praised their service. a week later the chap phoned to thank me for taking the time to fill in the questionaire.

I contacted Warburtons via their website a few years ago to say how much I liked their products and they sent me a few quid worth of vouchers :T

I wasn't looking for them and it was a complete surprise :j

Maybe its you. I always treat customers that little bit more better if theyre smiley and chatty.

Thats me to a T, serving or in a shop, occasionally get a grumpy SA smile back... but thats about it :(

Although, I have to say I has fantastic service yesterday in a chippy in Southend - Ye Olde Chippy, good prices, lovely food, and everyone was so friendly and chatty, couldn't thank them there enough!. Is there like a good food guide or anything I could write a reccomendation or something for? It was a lovely place!! Tempted to make the hour and a half journey back there just for more!

We also had a customer come into store and give us a box of chocolates couple of days ago as we effectivly saved him £200, was really lovely :D

what a great idea, count me in too.

Does anyone know if there are any standard letters to use to get started. My writing is not the best, I always get stuck not knowing what to write. Just to give me an idea like....
