Freebies for being nice?

I think that's a great idea. It's great to be thanked instead of always complained at -I know from experience & YES it does boost moral -Good for youI am wondering how many freebies we can get for being nice instead of complaining?
The idea is to write a nice thankyou letter for anything you have found really good recently, and see if they send you a 'thankyou' for thanking them.
For instance, a few years ago I wrote to Walkers crisps saying how much I enjoyed their fat free crisps. I got a nice letter back saying they were glad I enjoyed them, and a £5 voucher to buy some more!
I am going to start by mailing my local Tesco to say how helpfull and pleasant I find their staff. Even if I don't get anything back, hopefully it will boost staff moral.
Sorry if this has been done before, but trawled MSE and couldn't find anything similar.
Anybody got any thoughts on this?

Dove was great when they sent me a free sample of something to try....i looked at the ingredients and saw something im allergic to so i emailed them telling them the problem and i didnt complain (as it wasnt their fault) but felt a bit dissapointed. They were really kind, and sent me packaging (with postage paid on it) to send the item back and they then sent me a £1 voucher which could be used on any dove/intensive care (and a few other brands) item-so i was really pleased!

I once wrote a letter praising the service and food of a newly opened local restaurant and take away, after we tried their take away service.
The next time we ordered, when it was delivered, there was a letter inviting the whole family for a free meal, including drinks, at the restaurant. When we arrived, the letter I had written was framed and on the wall.
That was probably about 8 years ago and the letter is still on display now, even though the place has been refurbished.

I went to my Building Society yesterday and was served by a very, polite, pleasant young man. I went away feeling how nice it was to receive such good service in comparison to some young (and not so young) shop assistants.
I finished my other shopping and made a point of returning to the B.S. to mention this to another member of staff who promised to pass on my thanks.
We are sometimes very quick to complain when we receive bad service and sometimes forget to praise.
No freebies involved but it really brightened my day.0 -

:TCOUNT ME IN PLS! I LOVE BEING NICE, I THINK ITS THE ONLY WAY TO GO!
EVEN WHEN COMPLAINING IT PAYS TO BE NICE RATHER THAN ANGRY AND AGRESSIVE! THEN, IF NICE DOESN'T WORK, TELL THEM YOU'LL BREAK THEIR LEGS!! JUST KIDDING........OR AM I?!0 -
I put a comment card in M&S about a month ago about a chap who found something I'd searched ALL over for (and I'm normally very good at finding stuff!) and the next week they wrote back saying he had been rewarded and has helped him to be promoted to a Department Manager!
No freebie but nice to know they got recognised and a quick reply from them.0 -
