Had my first weigh in this morning (doing SW) and have only lost 2 and a quarter pounds - I'm disappointed, although maybe I shouldn't be. Had a bit of a binge this evening, but firmly back on the wagon tomorrow.

LL ...sorry I couldn't post my WI result earlier but perhaps you could add me to next week's lis. I suppose I'll always be a week behind, weighing in on a Friday.

Oh Suggs I really feel for you and I'm at a loss as to what to say, but if you hadn't done all this over the last 15 months, then imagine just how much worse you would feel now. I know it's no comfort. You can rant away here as much as you want :grouphug: Don't beat yourself up in the gym this weekend. Relax with Mrs Suggs.

I wish I could be more help, I don't have the knack with words like some others here.

Sorry, Sorry Sorry, Sorry Sorry, Sorry Sorry, Sorry Sorry, Sorry Sorry, Sorry

I have just got home after a week of commuting to and from London on a training course. Next week I have the joys of working a stand at a trade show for two days. Part of this means we all have to wear to company branded shirts.

Guess what? I was asked in January for my collar size, I gave both my collar size, my chest and my T shirt size to be safe, as we had a problem last year with polo shirts, but I was bigger then :) This is for an 'Oxford' Shirt

And this evening when it arrives, it dont fit!! Well to be fair it fits on the collar, but it looks like a 'tailored fit' in that as long as I dont sit, bend or cough then it buttons up over my waist/belly/moobs. Even the sleeves are tight on my biceps!

I wouldnt mind so much if I hadnt spend all the hours in the gym and been so damm good over the last 15 months, making myself presentable/hunky/sexy. Its not as if they dont know what I look like,

I know what will happen come Monday when I ring to boss to complain, it will be wear a white shirt and turn up. But I want to be part of the team, I want ot fit in and not stand out, I dont want people looking at me and noticing I am wearing a different shirt and thinking 'fat bloke cant get a shirt to fit' Currently I would rather take a written warning than put myself through the humilation of working a stand looking different.

I am sorry for moaning, believe me I am so wound up I am nearly in tears about this. Its not fair to me, its too late in day to do anything about it, its ruined the evening I had planned out with Mrs Suggs as no kids tonight and I will spend all weekend worrying and probably in the gym because of this.

    Sorry

    Rant over

No need to apologise Suggs - you've got every right to moan. (((hugs)))

The trouble is, people who are average size don't have a real understanding of larger sizes, or how important it is to feel comfortable in your clothes. The person probably went for the largest size available, without really checking the measurements against yours.

The only advice I can give you is to take the moral high ground - it isn't your fault, someone else cocked up, and keep reminding yourself that you may be the only one wearing a white shirt, but you probably do more exercise and take better care of your health than all the rest.

Don't let it get you down. :)

Hi Debbie - 2 and a quarter pounds is a VERY good weight loss, be proud of yourself! Think of something that weighs 2 pounds - a bag of sugar, a pack of lard  or a large tub of marge - and then imagine that somewhere on your body. This time last week it WAS somewhere on your body and now it isn't :D

No problem with Friday weigh ins, I've already added your result into next week's chart.

:grouphug: Big hugs to Suggs :grouphug:

I second everything that Petrichor said - if you hadnt spent the past 15 months losing all that weight and getting fit you would be much more unhappier. Can you ring your boss over the weekend and ask them to bring along another t shirt on Monday? If not I wouldn't worry about wearing a shirt and tie - you'll look like the boss cos the rest of them will look casual :D

I know how you are feeling though - I'm going to a wedding tomorrow - one of the incentives for losing weight. You might remember that last week I mentioned that the dress was now a good fit on me since I must have lost inches at the gym - well in typical sods law fashion this week (you may have noticed I havent posted much) my IBS has been really playing up and I have been feeling miserable and to top it all off my tummy has inflated to the size of a giant football and the dress feels tight  I need to lose about a stone between now and tomorrow - yeah right!

Have a good weekend with Mrs Suggs since the kids are away - a few games of monopoly  will cheer you up ;) Keep your chin up, we still love ya!

Honey what do you do to minimilise the effects of your ibs on your tummy 'inflation'? just wondering as i have recently been diagnosed with mild ibs, and coincidentally have developed a new belly that i never had before!! (one of the reasons i want to lose weight) do you have any specific 'rules' that you stick to? i've looked on the internet in the past but a lot of advice contradicts other advice, and healthy eating ideas (for example, i've read not to have wholegrain but white bread only)

Big hugs Suggs (hey that rhymes). I dont quite understand...did the company get your size wrong, even though you gave them your measurements? It's their fault, you shouldnt feel bad. Dont worry about it, wear a different shirt, and look smarter. or perhaps look more casual and wear the company shirt (if it is a button up shirt - last year was polo shirts but i didnt see which kind it was this year) unbuttoned with another tshirt underneath? I'm sorry i cant be more help, but to reiterate what others have said, if you hadnt lost all this weight and bettered yourself you would feel 100 times worse. you should still be very proud.

Kat - I've got some medication which I don't find a great help and I was also told to avoid bread, pasta & rice as for me this makes things worse - not great when you like SW green days  TBH I haven't found a lot that helps reduce the swelling - I try to have a lot of fruit and veg and drink lots of water but when I'm having a flare up the fruit often makes my pains etc worse and tends to run through me (too much information, sorry :o ) Its trial and error - my best friend is also a sufferer and what works for her doesn't for me and the things that set mine off are ok for her
