Anyone doing this at all please?
  • Hi all. Back from visiting my sister and her family in Oz and feeling a bit deflated - had a really great time but very difficult saying goodbye. Felt so much better for having lost weight and now come back more determined than ever to get back on track and lose that stone (and whatever I have gained!) by the summer.

I started off well whilst I was away but then all good intentions fell by the wayside. I ate and drank too much and my clothes gradually felt a bit tighter. However, the good thing is that I've got a good tan and that always makes you look and feel better (I hope!).

Anyway, I've started on the healthy eating again today - and was actually ready for healthier food after too much over indulgence - and went to the gym this morning. I didn't get weighed as was worried I would get too much of a shock, but will get weighed on Monday and post then. Hopefully after a couple of good days the reading won't be as bad as it probably will be if I get weighed now. There's some logic there honestly! I seem to have disappeared off the list but hope that I can be put back on again.

I haven't had chance to look through all the posts - just this page, but look forward to catching up at the weekend.
Proud to be dealing with my debts

    Hi Lois.
Obviously my fault for not posting but I see I've been removed from the chart. Could you put me back on . I think my total loss so far is 2lb.It's not much but it is progress

Basically I've stayed the same for about 6 weeks, and got sick of posting that. I should have pm'd you to let you know.

Hello everyone. Well done all of you making progress. I still read the thread on a daily basis and although I'm not losing lbs I'm definitely losing inches.

I put ice cubes in first, followed by apple juice, followed by frozen fruit, frozen banana and low fat yoghurt. Whizz round and you've got a smoothie:j . Add more juice depending on how thick you like it.

These personal shoppers that have been mentioned, has anyone here used one? I'm a bit cynical and wonder whether you need pots of money, won't they get the dearest items etc.?

    xxxx

I'm curious as well but I'm guessing that getting the dearest items out to try on would be self defeating at actually getting a sale. I remember reading that you don't have to buy anything or you can have certain items set aside while you go for a walk and make up your mind. Regardless the experience should be good for you and you will definitely walk out of the shop with an idea of style, cut and colour which you can then look out of in other shops.

Welcome back kat - glad you had a fab time :j

    hi

I`m new to the site, although have been watching from afar.

I have been doing slimming world, and have just got to target lossing 1 stone 1 lbs.

I have done t before, it was hard, but now I need to keep it off, which I know will be harder than the intail loss-which was not easy.

    Any hints or tips?

Also, what do you do about clothes, 1 part of me just wants to go through my wardrobe and just get rid of everything that doesnot fit-so I can`t grow back into it! The other is thinking of the money.

I am going to save my class fee and spend it on clothes.

    Thank you

It was me:D but your first three aisles must be laid out differently:confused: because ours is fruit/veg/meat as you go in which are healthy eating freindly, you must have gone in the back way:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Cross my heart I didn't ;)

    :D

and congrats to Hazzie123 on your 1/2 stone award!

Welcome crockpot and congrats on reaching target. :T

If you found it a struggle to get to your target then I would just keep doing what you have been doing for now. Did you attend class? If you did one of the most important things you can do is keep going. You'll find it much easier to keep to target with the class support plus you still get all the uptodate information which is missed by people like myself, no longer attending classes - just struggling to do it alone.

If you really can't bear to throw out all the old clothes put them in a suitcase and then put them somewhere where you'd can't get to them easily and forget about them for now. In a few years time you'll stumble across it and throw it out with ease :D

    Hi Edimew

I'd seen you about the other boards and wondered why you weren't with us. Don't worry about staying the same for a few weeks :T , as I said the other day A maintain is better than a gain please stay with us and let's all help you.

thriftykatie Welcome back to Blighty avatarunionjackwp9.gif Sorry that you were sad to leave Oz australiaflagsd6.gif (as you can see somethings haven't changed with me :rotfl: ) I'm glad you drank and ate too much, you wouldn't be normal otherwise, but any weight gained will soon come off, back to day one.

crockpot Well done for reaching your target :j Personally I would ditch any clothes that are really too large, I did and it prevented me from regaining too much. Charity shops will welcome them.

    xxxx
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!
