    Hi,
Not had a brilliant day today - yet another buffet for lunch at work - only one anticipated for next week (have to eat with my customers and find it hard to keep on the straight and narrow).
Hard day too - a relative passed away (totally expected - she was 90) and although we weren't close my mum and gran were and have spent all evening on the phone to them. Had a "comfort" glass of wine (well 2 really!) and a packet of crisps. The only saving grace was that tea was completely free.
Weigh in tomorrow too - couldn't have picked a worse day to have a food wobble!
Never mind - new day tomorrow.

  • Hi everyone - can I join you?

I've recently joined up to the debt free wanabe thread and beanielou very kindly pointed me in the direction of this thread.

I'm hoping that my change in spending habits will also bring about a change in my eating and exercise habits. I've just sold my car and bought a bike to get to and from work so will def be exercising 5 days a week.

I need to lose about 65lbs:eek: and think that may be harder than sorting out the debt;) (see my signature:eek: ).

Weighed this morning - lost 1.5lbs!
I'm quite pleased with that as I have had a difficult week in work with regards to eating with customers. I have tried to increase the length and speed of the dog walking though and be careful with teas and had no extras really (apart from a little slip up last night).
So at least the scales showed some change and have motivated me to carry on. I've actually even been to Tesco this morning to get the bits and pieces needed for the week and done a meal plan (hope I can stick to it!).

To help make me feel more positive I also have a haircut and colour booked for this afternoon - make me a new woman!

So for the 5lb challenge- 1.5 down, 3.5 to go! It's a start!
Have a great day everyone - off to do the housework now.

PS well done Mirry and welcome Brainfreeze!

I also jumped on the scales this morning and there is still no loss showing  I did however try on the dress that I have bought to the wedding next weekend and it is loose where it was originally tight so I must have lost something from somewhere  It used to be "snug" ;)around my hips and now swings on them :T
Going to try and eat mainly free foods as much as I can between now and then (mainly fruit and veg and lots of water) and see if that makes a difference.

Its boiling here. We are demolishing our garage today as our building work starts next week :j

Have a great day everyone - enjoy the sun :)

PS welcome Brainfreeze  and well done to the latest losers - Rachelmk, Malima and Mirry :T:T Jojilufc - dont worry about the gain - its only half a pound, probably water

suggs I was in boots today and at the chemist counter they have for the weighing machine a smart card, it is a blue credit card that the chemist validates a free go on the machine with body fat also, then the next time you put it in you get 10% discount and your last 10 readings get saved from the machine onto your card to see the progress... you may know about it already but I didn't and love the idea, can't wait until next tuesday to get a free go ( I love anything for free!!)

Morning victory, I guess my Boots are on the older cards then as its a Green smart card been that way for around 5 years. Its 30p a go on the scales cash, the card is £1 for four goes. I tend to pay cash weekly and then once a month use the card, that way I get a month by month printout for the last 10 readings. I do keep all the tickets though.

In fact I checked today as its my last rugby match of the season, in this heat! :o I weigh 4 stone 3 lb lighter than at the start of the season at the begining of September :j even I thought wow and double wow :j

Well done Rachelmk, all losses are most welcome, welcome to brainfreeze and well done to mirry also.

Good news about your dress Honey, sounds like abit of trimming up is happening so no to worry about the weight :T Bet you look fab in it too.

    Have a weekend all.

Hi and thanks for the welcome

As I a debt free wannabe I can't justify paying money to go to WW or SW so I will be doing my own thing:rotfl:

Hopefully the debt diet means that I am planning the meals and only buying exactly what I need and no extra. It's working so far:T but I am less that a week into my debt diet;) The shopping list have fruit and veg on it - but only one twirl a week (sorry can't give up chocolate totally)

I'm also hoping the change from driving to work to cycling there and back 5 days a week is going to shift some weight and count as the main exercise part of my aim to lose weight (cos I know diet alone isn't gonna sort out my lumps and bumps).

I look forward to getting to know everyone here soon:beer: (ps...that's not beer I'm cheering you with....it's diet coke!)
  • Just checking in - feel much better.
Thanks for all the help couldn't do it without the help from this forum. Not weighed myself yet! More spuds and HL cottage cheese for me.
I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something
