    Hi all especially the newbies,

Just taken me ages to read through all new posts, was on page 21 last time I looked:rotfl:

Have eaten too much this easter including Creme Egg:eek: Why were the gym giving away these free??? I HAD to have one then, but I had just done a good long workout so....:o

Yesterday I had the starts of the dreaded lurgy people had a while back so went to sleep on sofa in afternoon. Woke up when DS brought me a coffee and handed me a large piece from his easter egg saying "this'll make you feel better". I ate that too:rotfl: Found out he was after me letting him go to Xscape with his mates tomorrow!!!:D (He's 12 and thinks I'm too strict!).

Tried to be good today and took dog round racecourse but back gave up part way round so had to limp home...Didn't have chocolate when I got in tho:rotfl:

Good luck to everyone for challenge, especially newcomers. Lots of people have great tips on here to keep you on track.

I think it's a great idea to measure yourself before you start and then at regular intervals. I did this and my first 4 weeks at SW were very slow weight loss wise which my consultant put down to the gym. I almost gave in but did my measurements instead and had lost an inch on each thigh and my hips. :D That's what kept me going, and now the weight loss has increased too...

    Sorry if I've waffled on.:o

Hi Rach. I know there are a few slimming threads on the go but just wanted to give my thoughts.

Firstly, don't look at this as a diet. It is a lifestyle change. Don't take this the wrong way but the reason you are whatever weight you are is beacuse of a) what you eat and b) the exercise or lack of that you do.

It's all very well going on a diet and losing a stone but as soon as you go back to your old ways it goes straight back on.

So the first obstacle is to find a fitness routine and diet (note not a diet) that you will stick with for life.

By finding something you enjoy you are more likely to stick with it. Both food wise and fitness wise.

Are you a member of a gym? If not do you think you would stick to it? Perhaps if you have a friend you can go with you would be more likely to keep it up.

Regarding your skin. The longer you take to lose the weight the more time it will give your skin to adjust. Not just that but you are more likely to keep the skin off!

6 stone in 16 months is quite alot! Thats 5lb a week. But probably could be achieveable. Exercise is the key to it all though. I don't want to teach you how to suck eggs but it's all about getting your body burning off fat and only exercise will do that at the rate you need.

Hope this helps in some way. I can't think of a better motivation than your wedding day! Maybe you can stick something on the fridge to remind you.

    Best of luck. :)

Sorry southernscouser but had to put you right on this one coz you're maths is a bit off :o
To get an answer of 5lbs you must've divided 6st (84lbs) by 16 months so the answer is per month not per week IFYSWIM
To get the no of lbs per week you divide 84lbs by 69 weeks (which is approx no of weeks in 16 months) and is answer is just under 1.25lbs per week - a target I think that is achievable :D

I've just pointed this out to help Rach not to put southernscouser down :D

A couple of websites I thought might be useful:
https://www.fitday.com (free online diet/exercise diary - they have lovely charts and things)
http://www.wisegeek.com/what-does-200-calories-look-like.htm - 200 cal portions of various foods, might help?

Sugarhunny a couple of websites posted earlier on that might be what you're looking for...
